BIO: My one-way train ticket to San Francisco departs in August and all of you listeners out there are coming with me. This set of experimental lo-fi recordings will explore reinvention and anonymity as it relates to the act of leaving and returning back to somewhere familiar. I’ve spent the past six years in Chicago performing and recording music under my first and middle name, Rachele Eve. Beginning as a solo artist accompanied by a drummer, I eventually formed a full rock band that incorporated elements of psychedelic pop and what I would more appropriately coin as “desert rock” to my songs. The fruits of that project include a full length album entitled Mouth of Feathers, an official music video for our single “Harold Moon”, and live recording sessions with Daytrotter and AudioTree, both with include unreleased songs. More recently I have ventured off into writing finger-style folk ballads accompanied by two cello players with whom I am currently recording a 7 song EP where we explore sound scape and experimental ambience and instrumentation. My songs and musings have almost always come about impulsively without a conscious methodology or effort to recreate within a certain niche. Thus, the confines of this project, ie its syllabus and deadlines, are something I welcome wholeheartedly.

this song is part of the Linear Music Assignment Project created by our song steward Justin Wood who has invited a group of musicians from all over the world to write, record, and release a song a month for an entire year. providing us with different prompts each month, we will all end up with a full length album by June 2013.

Singer-songwriter, Rachele Eve is a third-generation Italian American from Detroit. Over the past 15 years she has released six albums and performed over 300 live shows. She holds a BA in music business from Columbia College Chicago and has traveled extensively to learn and teach music, permaculture, yoga, and creative empowerment. Her music —often described as healing and transcendent— centers around her powerful and dynamic mezzo-soprano voice. Her latest single, "OMNI," is an Italo Disco jam for the revolution.
