What you are about to hear is not just any sunrise DJ set, but the farewell sunrise DJ set for a community I love and hold dear to my heart: NotaSexParty (aka NASP). 

It is also not a DJ set for just any random crowd, but rather a curation of humans that always inspire me to be my best self. Therefore, it is not a coincidence; in my humble opinion, that perhaps this is one of the best DJ sets I have woven in front of a live audience in my 20+ years of DJ craft. No detail was spared on every transition, every choice of track

On the crowd side of things it was no less epic. 

There were some people’s first time crowd surfing while The Beatle’s “Hey Jude” played as our second to last anthem as the sun FINALLY came out on our last day of camp. There was a giant circle of human chain of friends shoulder-dancing to LCD Soundsystem’s anthem “All my Friends” while we screamed/sang the lyrics from the top of our lungs. 

There was also an epic crowd sit-down right before all of this and before we slowed down our heart beats to a soft stop in unison… 

I only went there (to all of those places) because the crowd made me feel comfortable enough to do so.

It was the perfect storm of “epic-ness”. When I listened to it for the first time since performance, I realized that the musical story told here was a 2.75-hr long continuous anthem, one where I couldn’t believe we had another 40 minutes of high dance floor energy, and so I had to stop for a moment and ask for consent to keep going down “the (musical) rabbit hole”.

We danced, we laughed, we cried, we sweated, we loved, we jumped, we stomped, we screamed, we head-banged, we sang, we drummed (with Noah - @noahappel - love you brother) like a defiant crew of rebellious circus hippies in a magical co-created land… on a fucking Monday morning. 

No one could stop us. 

It was pure electronic dance music- sunrise Rock n’ Roll.
We were all in this together, we did this together.

Burning Man 2014 Sunrise Set at Bubbles & Bass 8:15 & Esplanade. 

The scenery was magical! I started my set from 5:00 - 6:30, while the darkness changed to twilight, till finally the sun showed up at the horizon.

The transition from night to day can be felt at 00:20:20 on my set. Another mystical night ended and a magical day was beginning to start. 

Thank you to the entire B&B Family and especially to Jason for this unique experience, to camp, spin and celebrate with you while we wasted a shitload of champagne every morning! ♥

Canopy Sounds 06: VieL

It’s Christmas! And for such a special occasion, we have a very special cocktail for you: "Jingle Berries”! This cocktail not only has a sensational name, it does also contain all the spirits you need for a spectacular holiday! It is super smooth but still energizing, it is festive but not corny. It’s just delicious, and it has been created just for the occasion.

Parallells, a duo consisting of two French brothers currently based in Amsterdam, delivers the musical ingredients to this beauty. The duo grew up in a jazzy and funky environment, playing both at the Jazz conservatory. Their set can be characterized by the mix of several genres with a spacey and melodic touch. 
 
Parallells continuously search for new and unusual sounds that they use and translate into music. One of their project called “A Day At” is a video series where tracks are played live using only the environment’s organic sounds and analogue music gears. 
With releases on Bar 25, Submarine Vibes, Crossings and Klassified Records, they co-founded Klassified and also run its label and the Klassified Music Festival. 
And yes if it’s sound familiar, you are right! We can officially declare December 2018 as a Klassified Month, since Parallells are taking over from Rammo Music, their Klassified founder-buddies. 

As a little Christmas surprise, we are happy to announce that Parallells just compiled the next volume of The Feathers Eyes including a track with RAMMÖ called “Les Terres de Tawa” - coming out January 21st on Klassified.
