We drop musical breadcrumbs over time. There are particular tracks that transport you somewhere else whilst leaving a mark on your past. Explosions in the sky’s “Home” struck a nerve with me around a decade ago. On the way to school I’d slump down into my seat in a half daze, lean my head against the bus window, and just float along. Mid winter mornings in England, it’s all dark silhouettes and crooked branches. I’d put this track on and slip away, I could be anywhere. Here's to musical escapism.
