This music was inspired by the recent premiere and CANNES 2023 OFFICIAL SELECTION:  CALIGULA: THE ULTIMATE CUT.  You can see the film September 24th at Fantastic Fest in Austin, TX and late September at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, CA.

While this track is not in the movie, the instrumentation, sound palette and feel is directly inspired by the film.  

I composed the film score with a hybrid palette in mind, using organic instruments, percussion as well as found sound, audio manipulation and vintage analog synthesizers.   I was posed with the question - what would the score sound like if they composed it in 1979-1980 using the above sound palette with modern-listener and viewer sensibilities?

Jag har ADHD, så min hjärna hoppar mellan idéer lika snabbt som beatet skiftar.
Jag hör en melodi och tänker aah den funkar… vänta, denna också… tänk om vi testar det här… oo nice!
Det är så jag skapar — impulsivt, intuitivt, och utan regler.

Genrer för mig är inte lådor.
Det är dörrar, och jag springer igenom alla samtidigt.

Det här är första utkastet, men ändå full kvalitet — exakt som jag jobbar:
80% eld, 20% skugga.
För vissa är det kaos.
För andra är det konst.

I have ADHD, so my mind jumps through ideas the same way the song switches genres.
I hear something and go: “ahh this works… oh wait, that works too… what if… oo nice!”
That’s how I create — impulsive, intuitive, limitless.

Genres aren’t boxes to me.
They’re doors, and I walk through all of them at once.

This is the first draft edition, but still full-quality — exactly how I work:
