From the new EP: Dust & Debris

As cold as it is catchy and hypnotic armed with pulsating analog synths, staccato drum computer beats and sampled vocals, Raderkraft takes you into a dystopian past, present and future on his third 4-track EP called "Dust & Debris" by treating global world problems such as: the devastating impact of drug addictions; the future existence of our planet due to climate change; the global widespread destruction by nuclear war; and the fear for terrorist attacks.  

The title track “Dust and Debris” describes the 9/11 catastrophe and contains a chronological frightening news report from several media sources telling us what happened that day exactly 20 years ago. With this EBM style track Raderkraft perfectly catches the incomprehension and fear that shocked the world that day.

For musicians delving into sonic exploration, a defining moment arises in the learning, playing, and recording of a song. This process unveils the mystique of music, emphasising control and revealing the depth of simplicity. The technicality, grounded in contemporary songwriting, transforms into a quest for layered storytelling and a sonic aesthetic that authentically represents the artist.

Passerella, recorded over a week in the summer of 2022 by Infesta, draws from 80s synth pop, post-punk, and dark wave, infused with subconscious nods to Canzone Italiana. This raw, genuine work captures emotional intensity, presenting a dark yet relatable world. It transforms the conventional album into a musical diary, each track reflecting conflicting inner thoughts in a gentle, intimate narrative connecting the author with the listener.

For the second consecutive year, they enchant us with a distinct and intriguing synth sound, and today is no exception. Ofelia Ortodoxa, under Dystatik, unveils the latest release titled "Basics For Sadness," a six-track album available on tape. The digital release is scheduled for January 29th, and we're treating ourselves to a sneak peek with the track "I Can Tell You Anymore."

About the release:
Columbian DJ and producer Ofelia Ortodoxa makes a triumphant return to Dystatik, marking his debut album on the label. Hailing as one of Colombia's most expressive and interesting electronic music creators, Ofelia delves into various genres, from electro to ambient. "Basics For Sadness" is a collection of six tracks, drawing inspiration from old cassette recordings and featuring new collaborations with fellow artists. That true beauty lies in the essentiality and meticulous combination of a few elements is sometimes not just a cliché. The delicate blend of Roland CR-78, acoustic guitar and dissonant organs that intertwine in Open Windows is a vivid demonstration of this. It is these few elements, now distant and hinted at and now close and deafening, that paint the backdrop of melancholic nostalgia where laconic whispers move the listener within the paintings that bear the sonic signature of Human Figures. To Daniel Lewis' new project, which has seen its springboard through releases on the label of his friends at Frigio Records, perhaps the adjective "new" is already quite tight. He has built a very recognizable sonic tibre, an influence of producers and listeners at different latitudes of the post-punk and wave scene. 

In the 8 canvases of Open Windows the folk tradition is repainted in a more contemporary guise: the sweet and sad litanies are alternated with fast and frenetic stornelli in which the combination of tradition and experimentation constitutes the stylistic signature. The open window through which the listener has the opportunity to look out in this album does not, however, give onto a natural external panorama. It projects into an inner world where introspection and silence are the only chance to grasp its sublime beauty.

For the fourth release of its catalog, e s p e r p e n t o draws inspiration from the Tanzerloch, an ancient chasm steeped in charm and mystery nestled within the Val d'Assa (Italy).
According to Cimbrian folklore, witches' gatherings were held in the depths of this abyss with their wild dances and magical rites.
Through a 12-track split Ep, Brenko and the brand-new project "eoobe" by the Amsterdam-based duo Elina Tapio and Marco Segato, delve into a gorge of sounds that transcend time, tribal reminiscences, frenetic percussive rhythms, and indistinct voices.

Synthium, the latest EP from HelenA MArkos, the creative force behind the imprint/blog Tales of Psychofonia, marks a significant milestone in her musical journey. Following a series of releases across notable labels like SOIL and FERMA, HelenA presents her newest artistic endeavour through Tales of Psychofonia. In this captivating six-track EP, she showcases her intricate experimentation with sounds, textures, and vocals, culminating in a special auditory experience.
Adding a unique twist to this musical tapestry are the dynamic remixers who have lent their exceptional talents to the project.
