Every Situation Is An Opportunity To Express Love For Krishna

Lord Chaitanya replied, "That is external. Tell Me something more." Ramananda Raya said, "To renounce varnashram and to surrender to Krishna, that is the essence of perfection."
And he quoted, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja aham tvam sarva-papebhyo moksayisyami ma sucah Abandon all varieties of dharma and just surrender to Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, He said, "That is very good, but please, say something more." He said, "Devotional service mixed with empiric knowledge is the essence of perfection. brahma-bhutah prasannatma na socati na kanksati samah sarvesu bhutesu mad-bhaktim labhate param Lord Chaitanya said, "That is external. Tell Me something more." Ramananda Raya spoke that, "Pure devotional service with no tinge of any mixture of empirical knowledge, that is the essence of perfection." Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said, "That is all right, but please tell Me something more." Ramananda Ray said, "Ecstatic love for Krishna is the essence of perfection. And there is only one price for that ecstatic love, that is the intense greed to achieve it." Ramananda Ray said, "In that ecstatic love of Krishna, when it arises from the spontaneous feelings of the heart, one could love Krishna, as eternal servant." Lord Chaitanya said, "Please tell something more." Then he explained that, "Love of God in Sakhya Rasa, as a friend is the essence of perfection" And he gave example of cowherd boys. Mahaprabhu said, "Please go on. Tell more." He said, "Love of God in the mood of parent like Mother Yasoda, vatsalya rasa, is the essence of perfection" Mahaprabhu said, "Please tell Me more" He said, "The essence of all perfection is conjugal love, the love of Krishna for the gopis, and how when the gopis renounced everything to be with Krishna on the bank of Yamuna for the rasa Lila, Krishna appeared to them, and told them that, 'I cannot repay you for your love even in a lifetime of Brahma.' Thus, conjugal love is the essence of all perfection" 
And Ramananda Raya explained how in each progressively higher mood of rasa, of loving Krishna, all the others, preliminary to that are included. In conjugal love, is the full-fledged realization of vatsalya rasa, sakhya rasa, and dasya rasa. They are all included in conjugal love. 
And then Ramananda Ray said that, "Although each devotee, according to their particular relationship with Krishna, is completely satisfied and considers that particular relationship to be the supreme perfection and essence of the goal of life, still from a neutral, objective point of view, conjugal love is supreme because it includes all others, and therefore has the greatest capacity to attract Krishna." Lord Chaitanya said, "This is very good, but if you know something more, tell Me more."

Lord Chaitanya's Conversations with Srila Ramananda Raya (Part 1)

Radhanath Swami is a Vaishnava sanyassi (a monk in a Krishna-bhakti lineage) and teacher of the devotional path of Bhakti-yoga. He is author of The Journey Home, a memoir of his search for spiritual truth. His teachings draw from the sacred texts of India such as The Bhagavad-gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and Ramayana, and aim to reveal the practical application of the sacred traditions, while focusing on the shared essence which unites apparently disparate religious or spiritual paths.
Born Richard Slavin, on December 7, 1950, in his teens he came to confront a deep sense of alienation from suburban Chicago life and the civil injustices of mid-century America. At the age of nineteen, while on a summer trip to Europe, his internal struggles culminated in a commitment to search for God wherever it might lead him. Meditating on the Isle of Crete, he felt a supernatural calling and the next morning set off alone to find spiritual India. The Journey Home documents his odyssey as a penniless hitch-hiker though Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and finally India. There he lived as a wandering ascetic, first amongst the forest dwelling Himalayan yogis and later amongst a wide variety of gurus and spiritual practitioners throughout India and Nepal. Ultimately, he was led to the holy town of Vrindavan, where he found his path amongst the Bhakti-yogis.
In Vrindavan he found the teacher he was searching for in A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977) the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), and representative of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, (the Krishna-bhakti tradition stemming from the 16th century mystic avatar Sri Chaitanya). In choosing Bhaktivedanta Swami, as his guru, Radhanath Swami felt compelled to shear his matted locks and reenter Western society with a mission to share the sacred wisdom he had received. This return exemplifies the form of devotional yoga which is at the heart of Radhanath Swami’s teachings, a spiritual practice expressed as tangible action meant to bring about personal fulfillment and benefit the world.
At the the age of 31 he took the monastic vows of a Vaishnava sanyassin and became known as Radhanath Swami.
Today Radhanath Swami travels regularly throughout India, Europe and North America, sharing the teachings of Bhakti-yoga. He resides much of the year at the Radha Gopinath Ashram in Chowpatty, Mumbai. For the past twenty-five years he has guided the community’s development and has directed a number of acclaimed social action projects including Midday Meals, which daily serves more than 260,000 plates of sanctified vegetarian food to the children of the slums of Mumbai. He has also worked to establish missionary hospitals and eye camps, eco-friendly farms, schools and ashrams, an orphanage, and a number of emergency relief programs throughout India.
