“Molding Cerebration” is an audio production by London based artist Gerard Carson that ruminates on lost possible futures, retro-degraded phenomena, ambient dread and fleetingly cruel fantasies. Chopping and clipping along a digital status bar, magnetically operated media is replicated, aping or striving for some last gasp of “authenticity”. However, it dissipated long ago, remaining as a haunting whiff on the wind, located in dusty cassettes, digitally entombed pop music, and disintegrating cyberpunk paperbacks. An interstitial zone is opened up, giving rise to a jungle of mutated half-breeds that stagger forth from a dislocated present.
