Mateusz Miller solidified his position as one of the most exciting global ambassadors for the sound with his 2011 debut album and he returns to the mighty Moonshine Recordings with another killer full length selection of thick dread bassweight and proper roots vibes. Matt’s influences have always been varied, and his music’s rich diversity is in full effect across the LP as he adeptly shifts between tempos and moods, utilising his ear for melody and rhythm to create an absorbing collection of timeless sounds. The ground shaking sub-frequencies central to each track are built to challenge soundsystems and ignite dancefloors, whether it’s on the livewire rhythms of his jungle indebted track ‘Wicked Dub’, the driving sonic force of the drum and bass styled ‘Different Dub’ or the dubbed out, skank-ready movements of tracks like ‘Earthwalker’ and ‘Indra’. Our next VA pulls threads from Manchester, Lyon, New York, and Bristol; a cross-continental snapshot of the sounds shaping our world right now.

It opens in the shadows, with Steel Traxx and Product Toss delivering slow, murky cuts that set the foundation: heavy, cracked, and full of tension.

Things begin to shift as Manami, Maelita, and Mattik push into bass-driven territory. Low ends are refracted through their own lenses, building pressure and colour as the record unfolds.


The tone lifts as Sempra delivers UK-funky flair, all bright percussion and magical flute runs cutting through the weight. From there, disctr4k brings bumpy NY-garage-flavoured house, full of swing and cheeky momentum, before Direct Function closes the journey with warm, dub-soaked atmospheres that linger long after the final note.

A full-spectrum Skiptrace release — built from community, curiosity, and shared movement.

One of the brightest lights of the roots-influenced underground community for the past half-decade, Poland born Mateusz Miller has pioneered a compelling and unique fusion of sounds that encompass dub, reggae and dubstep under his Radikal Guru moniker. Inspired by an appreciation of soundsystem culture, his music has become synonymous with suffocating degrees of dread bassweight, vibrant and eclectic palettes of tone, and varying energy levels that cater for both dancefloor focussed ruckus and for more meditative listening. Heavily influenced by the likes of King Tubby and Scientist, Matt first gained worldwide acclaim and recognition through a string of killer vinyl releases on leading reggae/dubstep imprint Dubbed Out, before forming a creative partnership with fellow label Moonshine Recordings where he has gone on to cement his reputation as one of the strongest proponents of the scene. His Moonshine discography boasts highlights that include his debut LP ‘The Rootstepa’ and the mighty ‘Dread Commandments’ 12”, and keep an eye out for some seriously exciting developments in the pipeline including the release of his second album. Not only a talented producer, Matt is also a fine selector, conveying his passion for music through DJ sets that pay homage to the sound and culture’s rich history as much as they showcase the freshest cuts of sonic innovation from himself and his contemporaries. He has hit spots all around the world to assault soundsystems with bass-fuelled beats and positive vibes.
