Through The Trees - 20.07.25

Task was pretty easy and simple - collect and put together in one selection all "Ambient" (or whatever) material from various albums from 2018 onwards. 

I had to do it for couple of reasons:

Space Ghost himself didn't put out yet compilation of "ambient works", which would be stellar compilation;

He's mainly known - as far as I'm aware - for his Dance and RnB/Downtempo related stuff... but somehow Ambient was lost between pounding House tracks on releases.

First I heard one album and I was "Aha, ok, cool stuff... ambient to bridge between House music". Then, another album, another, all containing magnificent ambient/new age/esoteric/synth/space works than in the end culminated in my Space Ghost Tidal Ambient playlist. On repeat, for years...

Here's an hour of finest floating music. Hope he'll make some official move to make more of albums like this and release it on - God forbid - Limited 2xCD release.

He is a busy guy, who recently celebrated 5 years of Claremont with a extensive worldwide tour. Musician, composer, DJ, label head etc... He has performed in various venues worldwide and he has found a cozy corner at Refuge Worldwide, hosting his show, "Francachela". His musical style is eclectic, spanning House, Balearic, Boogie, and Disco, or as someone wise once best described it, "Adult Dance Music". Reminiscent of a slow dance, a little touch of risqué perhaps, but most of all - fun.

Hailing via Ontario (CA), Brandon co-founded the famous "inivisible City" Record Shop in Toronto which has since then released some important re-issues on the self-owned label and generally become a haven for the local record-digging scene. 

Around 2016/ 2017, however, Brandon has parted with Invisible City and it certainly did not take him long to establish his own fantastic label "Séance Centre" which does not solely focus on the music  but instead situates its releases in their individual cultural and physical environments via visual modalities like photos and documentary but also word-based comunication such as interviews, essays or storytelling.

It was immediately clear to us that his approach fits perfectly with 5918mins. and so we are glad that Brandon has contributed this summer special full of goodness, seamlessly meandering between more experimental and pleasing sounds. Perfect for the current heat wave.
