This is a selection of music composed by Czechoslovakian musicians between 1974 to 1994.

Mykonos lives in Paris where she is part of the Bruits De La Passion crew, a diverse and devoted gang of friends and diggers that organise hybrid parties around the city as well as the Zone Disco Autonome Festival in the summer. 

Her music selection for her Phase Group mix is dub-wise, playful and eclectic, favouring the down-tempo, cosmic and cerebral sides of breakbeat, IDM and trip-hop. Thanks Anna!

Schleswig-Holstein is a thin land bridge between the mighty hull of the North German lowlands and the long pointed head of the Jutland peninsula, with the gentle Baltic Sea on one side, and the rough North Sea on the other. Numerous lakes, deciduous forests and wide corridors have shaped this region since its formation during the last ice age. The varied landscape, covered with fertile clay and littered with countless large and small granite blocks, is the legacy of the glaciers.

Fascinated by the cultural and geographical history of his homeland, Phil Struck recorded sonic impressions after hikes, wanderings, daydreams, historical readings and childhood memories. Schleswig-Holstein Aufnahmen is the distillation of these diaristic recordings, made between 2017 and 2019, using a sampler, synthesizer, and worn flea market records. Much like the cyclical musings of W.G. Sebald, or Cluster’s pastoral electronic miniatures, these works are intrinsically tied to the landscape of which they were born. The wobble and crackle of the samples is evocative of the craggy scenery of the lowlands, and also describes the patinated atmosphere of memory, found in the work of Vladislav Delay, Pole, Caretaker, Philip Jeck, Ken Jacobs, and Bill Morrison. The painting adorning the album cover was done by Struck’s great grandfather who was also seduced by this meandering windswept land.

Bristolians Tara Clerkin Trio sign the new 10TRAX n72. The trio, composed by Tara Clerkin, Sunny-Joe Paradisos and Patrick Benjamin, have recently released their self-titled album on the label Laura Lies In. Tara Clerkin released previously in 2017 her solo debut album “Hello” via Stolen Body.

We want to give a big shout out to Max who shared with us the TCT album earlier this year and gave us the opportunity to discover this amazing group and their beautiful music.

This 10TRAX brings a cool combination of downtempo, jazz, electronics and everything in between. It’s perfect for welcoming the summer in this weird year.

Here some words about the mix by TCT:
“We've got a group for the trio on facebook where we send eachother cool stuff. Recently it's mostly been tips for bread baking, but usually we post songs we think the others will like or ones we're using for jamspiration. So here's 10 of the songs we've sent to eachother over the past few months."

For episode seventeen we are joined by our new friend, Sophia Zhuravkova. Sophia recently released her debut album ‘Unseen’ with Prins Emmanuel’s new Malmö-based label Ny Agenda. ‘Unseen’ is an immersive listening experience and a delight for fans of field recordings and warm tones. Sophia also featured on Best Effort’s most recent Stay in Bed compilation, where she contributed ‘Tears Falling While Spring Comes’ – a most suitable remedy for the end of a challenging day.

Her words: “My mix is dedicated to magical forests and island seas that I have met recently. They initiated feelings of healing closeness with nature and the deep contact we can have in the warm arms of it.”
