After a year & a half of mixes, I’m humbled and excited to see animix hit number #50 with this banging, get-me-back-to-the-club mix from local icon Simon TK. Looking back, it’s warming to see how animix has spanned an amazing array of artists, styles, locations and moons. 

Simon TK ( @simon-tk ) has been a mainstay in the Naarm/ Melbourne scene for a long while now, playing an integral part in some of the city’s most loved and important musical institutions, such as Skylab radio and the recently launched vinyl imprint for the long-standing Waxo Paradiso duo/ collective, and Club d’Erange.

An incredibly talented DJ, Simon is a musical chameleon, somehow shining in every different style and mood he pulls out of the hat. His versatility, skill and dedication to community has left him with a well deserved respect amongst the Australian musical community, and his taste and bubbly vibe are just the cherry on the cake.

It was this special feeling they both shared while listening to music that connected them. Making a difference in what they do while deciding what kind of difference they want to make. Whether it's a warm-up mix or early hours, Shuray & Walle have brought a genre back to life that hasn't received much attention lately: Deep House. 
 
Accordingly, their first joint release "International Licence" on Filburt's label O*RS sounds pleasantly balanced and mature. With many gigs and a lot of experience they have gained over the last few years, we can expect some groovy and deep pumping tunes for a great afterhour vibe.

Currently more than 160 contributors regularly broadcast shows from Munich, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Hamburg and Vienna.

At Radio 80000, established and emerging musicians, DJs and artists as well as music enthusiasts without any professional ambitions engage in what has become an intensive exchange – offering a unique selection of timeless and contemporary music, with quality always being the top priority.

Since its foundation, the radio has grown into a network that unites individuals, leading to new collaborations between artists, labels and institutions inter/nationally.

Since March 2022 our studio is located at the Zirka.Space in Munich.
