For their 4th release LDI Records present the debut solo EP from Texan electro producer Terrestrial Access Network - Distant Lands. The release is drawn from the artist's shifting and hectic nomadic existence around the rattling expanse of the United States presenting 5 original cerebral electro tracks, backed up with a spooked out remix from Delsin Records' Versalife aka Conforce.

Based in Austin, Texas, a city famous for its hyper-vibrant creative musical scene, Terrestrial Access Network feeds from the energy of this environment just as much as the desert that surrounds it. His day to day life involves travelling for near constant work projects - spending days and weeks away from home in what is a hectic lifestyle. In the feelings he channels when writing Distant Lands - he is pulled back towards the energy of the serene and calm landscape while on the road dealing with an unsettled nature of life and his profession.

Terrestrial Access Network began releasing music as recently as 2019 with tracks picked up for compilations on Swiss label Dionysian Mysteries. With a sound that is expert at creating powerfully immersive heads down moments for the dancefloor TAN has driven this EP with an ever present and intoxicating mechanical funk.

Production wiz @Jonny3snareS continues Cornwall’s grand tradition of esoteric and emotive electronics with the ‘Signal Drive’ EP.

On ‘Signal Drive’ itself,  lush analogue synth tones drift over crisp electro beats and acidic bass, while the gorgeous and bittersweet ‘Recovery2’ has a melody for the ages and a snaking bassline that weaves between cowbell hits and intricate drum machine rhythms. ‘Scramble’ mixes a braindance arrangement with funked up 303s.

On the B side, label boss MOY steps up to give the title track a dance floor friendly, break-driven remix, with snarling electroid bass and acid lines. ‘Oh Nein’, meanwhile, is a speedy 4/4 excursion, both contemplative and psychedelic, and ‘Back2’ closes the EP with echoic pads and a bleeping, circuitous lead, rounding out another exceptional release from the burgeoning Dynamics Of Acid label.

After making waves with their 2020 self-titled debut LP (championed by the late, great DJ and synth/wave connoisseur Silent Servant), Toronto’s Analytica return to Suction Records’ minimal synth sub-label Ice Machine, for the second full-length LP, Strategy Of Tension. Comprised of kosmische synth artist Gabe Knox and electro-industrial performer David Lush, Analytica is a synth-pop duo who confront the race-to-the-bottom ethos of our time, but utilizing sounds and tools from the early ‘80s synth-DIY era. The album was recorded to a 6-track cassette portastudio in a two week session in Summer 2022, and mixed down live to tape in an afternoon. Analytica pair classic, holy grail analog synthesizers like the ARP Quadra, Roland System 100, and ARP 2600, with uncommon analog rhythm machines including the Univox SR-95, Soundmaster ST-305, Roland TR-77, and Korg KR-55B. The result is Strategy of Tension: a stinging rebuke to cynical political actors and a reminder that the only thing to fear is fear itself.

RIYL: early Depeche Mode, Factory Records, Minimal Wave label reissues.

The LP contains 11 songs on vinyl, with an additional digital-exclusive track available via Bandcamp, and included with the vinyl purchase via the included Bandcamp download card. Limited to 300 copies, with 100 copies available on white-vinyl. The white-vinyl edition is available exclusively via direct order from Suction Records’ online shop.

RX-101 - "Tunnel"

Our next premiere looks at a new vinyl release from Dutch producer @RX-101 on the long-running Canadian label @Suction-Records

RX-101 is Erik Jong. During the early to mid ‘90s, Erik discovered Techno music, Aphex Twin, and the more experimental output of labels like Warp, Skam, and Rephlex Records. At the same time, he began to buy analog synthesizers and drum machines, a setup concentrated on those Roland X0X classics - the Juno 106, TR-808, TB-303, and his favorite, the SH-101. The discography of this artist has been single-handedly been issued by @Suction-Records and every release features music composed between 1997-1999. It’s a world of heavenly analog synth sounds, glorious, emotional melodies, and otherworldly electronic atmospheres. 

The track selected by @DarkScienceElectro to premiere is an Electro/IDM tinged journey filled with beautiful, bubbly bass lines, creative rhythm patterns and and an almost mystical melody that sweeps over you during its 5-minute run time. Absolutely remindful of the mid-nineties work of @Aphex-Twin-official while, in my opinion, being more accessible to the average listener - This release will be available on March 22nd in CD, vinyl and digital formats.
