À l’aube de la sortie de son nouvel album ‘Les Délivrés’, prolongement de sa bande-son illustrant ce poignant documentaire sur la lutte des coursiers à vélos des grandes plateformes, Maxime Dangles dévoile ‘Matin Bleu’.

Entré par la grande porte des musique électroniques il y a 15 ans sur le label Kompakt, collectionnant les remixes de prestige (Moby, Green Velvet, Simian Mobile Disco, Kittin & The Hacker…), Maxime Dangles est une référence de la scène électronique internationale, réputé pour son sound design immersif et singulier qu’il façonne avec ses synthés modulaires. Mais depuis 4 ans, Maxime Dangles a ralenti les dates en club pour se consacrer à ce type de création, à la spatialisation du son, dans des lieux comme la référence en la matière la SAT de Montreal et au projet arts et sciences SONARS aux côtés des chercheurs du CNRS qui l’embarquent au coeur de leurs recherches sur les îles de Saint-Pierre et Micquelon.

Nourri des sentiments des protagonistes du documentaire tels que la lutte, la colère, le stress, l’aliénation ou l’espoir, Maxime Dangles signe ici une bande-son militante qui prolonge le combat des Délivrés de manière poétique entre IDM, electronica et ambient. Avec ‘Matin Bleu’, ce sont ici l’espoir et le rêve d’une vie meilleure qui sont traduits avec ce morceau électronica contemplatif et mélancolique mélangeant des notes de piano délicates et sensibles à son modulaire si singulier qui a fait sa marque de fabrique. Un crossover de musique électronique et contemporaine qui rappelle les dernières compositions de Yann Tiersen. 

L’album ‘Les Délivrés’ sera disponible en vinyle et digital le 17 février sur Lifeguards - nouveau sous label d’Astropolis Records, et Maxime Dangles présentera en avant-première son nouveau live sur Astropolis l’Hiver le samedi 11 février accompagné d’une création vidéo inspirée par le documentaire et orchestrée par Dylan Cote du collectif OYE, avec qui Maxime Dangles a déjà collaboré à la prestigieuse SAT de Montréal.

Le vinyle sera distribué par Bigwax et tous les bénéfices seront reversés à Utopia 56, association humanitaire venant en aide aux personnes exilées et à toute personne en détresse en France. Depuis 2015, l’association est présente à Calais pour apporter une aide matérielle d’urgence et dénoncer les violations des droits humains et violences policières et au gré de nombreuses actions dans toute la France. Maraudes, distribution, hébergement solidaire, l’association apporte une aide d’urgence sur le terrain pour les publics vulnérables et particulièrement les mineur.e.s non accompagné.e.s.

Maxime Dangles - Matin Bleu feat Seroplexx

Nachthorn tire son nom de l’un des 78 jeux qui composent l’orgue principal de l’église St. Antonius à Düsseldorf en Allemagne.

Cet instrument, équipé d’un système développé par la société allemande Sinua, offre en effet la possibilité de contrôler tous ses claviers et timbres via un ordinateur.

L’orgue devient ainsi un synthétiseur d'une puissance hors norme.

Ce dispositif singulier permet alors à Maxime Denuc et grâce au concours du label Vlek, de réaliser un vieux rêve : créer une pièce de dance music entièrement acoustique avec l’orgue comme seul instrument.

Oscillant entre dub techno, harmonies en boucle ou after-hours pop , Nachthorn propose une musique hypnotique dont les lignes esquissent le contour d’une rave imaginaire.

Rencontre avec l'intéressé autour d'un café et d'une copie de son vinyle à l'occasion d'un de ses passages par Toulouse.

Astéréotypie en live au Festival Hop Pop Hop

Croiser le collectif Astéréotypie, ça secoue. Ça fait bouger les jambes quand ça s’élance, ça désarticule les bras à chaque scansion ou rupture de tempo, ça fait hurler en chœur à s’en froisser les cordes vocales et ça fracasse les a priori pour peu qu’il en reste.

Derrière Astéréotypie se cachent Yohann, Stanislas, Aurélien, Claire et Félix, l’homme de l’ombre. Combo né en 2010 au sein d’un Institut médico-éducatif des Hauts-de-Seine lors d’un atelier d’écriture et de poésie, ce groupe étonnant multiplie les paroles atypiques et les phrasés lunaires qui aimantent l’oreille sur un genre de post-punk énergique tirant parfois sur le garage-rock ou le noisy.

Figure de la scène angevine depuis plus de 15 ans ans, Nerlov a officié dans une longue liste de groupes (Sheraf, VedeTT, San Carol…) et dans une grande variété de styles avant se de lancer tout naturellement en solo, sous son nom, en 2020. Son nouvel album "Pas Si Grave", avec son électro pop danseuse et raffinée chantée en français sortira en mai 2024.

“Ruines, Béton & Industrie” follows the 30-year-old friendship between Guillaume and Andrew.  They met in Grenoble, the French techno city, home of The Hacker, Kittin and Etant DonnéS. They also discovered rave culture together. It took almost 20 years before they recorded their first song.
Between reality and the digital realm, they started to record, compose, write and exchange what would become this LP around 2020.

Bordeaux-based, Guillaume works as an artist plastician and sound performer. He is known for his project The Garçon and performs under the moniker Po.Go.
Berlin-based, Andrew spends most of his time there and in his studio in Bretagne, France. He is part of the electronic Disco band called Acid Washed and has collaborated with Patti Smith and Jean Michel Jarre.

Andrew and Guillaume incessantly travelled back-and-forth between Berlin and Bordeaux, communicating via email, to create this record. 
LPS founder Assaf, first encountered Andrew in the local Berlin scene, and was astonished by his eclectic variety of electronic music; the type of art that fits the label like a glove. Beyond their sonic adventures, the duo inspired Assaf to rekindle his ‘not so hands-on’ virtues and express visual reverence, 
creating the album’s artwork.

When mulling which direction to go in for RA's 1000th mix celebrations, many options came to mind. Some shadowy character 2-stepping around the fringe of our collective consciousness? An impossible-level IDM icon?

All tempting. But, ultimately, we are a DJ-forward publication and this is a DJ mix series. It felt truer to the history of the RA Podcast to release deep vault material from a time when the world of niche records felt different, tighter, more discrete.

The fourth-longest mix in the series' history is an unrepeatable marathon set recorded in 2012 at a superclub that no longer exists. 2012, incidentally, is farther away from 2025 than 2012 was from 2000... if we have to clock it, so do you.

It's the coming together of one British icon who passed away in 2020, and another whose time on the road has scaled back considerably as of late. DJ Harvey agreed to exactly one b2b set in his life: this one, with Andrew Weatherall.

The night took place at Trouw, an Amsterdam club already considered legendary before it shuttered its doors in the opening hours of 2015, as part of an RA series anchored around start-to-close combinations. Harvey was at the peak of an irresistible career second act, which dovetailed with a disco revival that dominated clubs for years. Weatherall, with infinite brownie points stockpiled from the '90s, remained everyone's favourite debonair psychonaut. 

What follows is 385 scintillating minutes of arpeggiated chug and slow-cresting climaxes, chronicling a moment when the resting heart rate of dance floors plunged lower than potentially any comparable point in the 21st century. A masterclass, and entirely self-contained in audio form.

If you've got time to spare, a fun side game is sussing out who plays what. A disco-dub cover of Echo & the Bunnymen? Smart money's on Weatherall. Exuberant EQ'ing of The Isley Brothers? Gotta be Harvey. As for the low 'n slow, lightly spangled house that was all the rage in the early 2010s (think Maxxi Soundsystem, Disco Bloodbath, Rub & Tug, C.O.M.B.I. and Full Pupp), it's anyone's guess. 127 BPM feels practically like a racecar.

When we kicked off our RA.1000 campaign, we outlined a few goals: tick off a handful of long-awaited dream guests, honour architects who shaped the world around us and deliver recordings you truly can't hear anywhere else. We sought to render an accurate picture of DJ culture in 2025 for the longhaul.

DJing and the mythmaking around it has undergone a quantum leap since 2012, let alone 2006, 1996 or 1989. For those of us who were kicking around in the former, there's a creeping melancholy that our prime is fast becoming a matter of historical record. The killing moon really did come too soon. 

Where will electronic music, DJ sets or any of this be in 2044? Hard to say. Best not to overthink that one. Instead, we want to say thanks to all contributors on the series so far. Les ​Radios Campus sont des espaces d’expérimentation assumée. Partenaire du festival d’Avignon dans le cadre des « Ateliers de la Pensée », les Radios Campus chahutent la création sonore et questionnent le lien fraternel entre théâtre et radio. Après trois jours d’ateliers sonores en prise directe avec le Festival. Programme enregistré le 20 juillet 2017 en direct du site Louis Pasteur à Avignon.

Notre présence au Festival est une opportunité d’ouvrir plusieurs voies créatives, pour les membres des radios comme pour les auditeurs-trices, trop peu souvent initiées sur les ondes. : celle de la création sonore et du lien historique entre radio et théâtre.

Une équipe bénévole travaillera à l’écriture et à la production de pièces sonores. Originales, ludiques et créatives, elles seront le résultat d’ateliers radiophoniques menés avec nos invités. Nous avons ainsi convié celles ou ceux qui composent en partie la programmation du festival d’Avignon à venir contribuer, à leur manière, à l’élaboration des contenus sonores.

Ces ateliers, sur la base d’entretien sur place et d’un temps en intérieur ou extérieur, seront enregistrés et constitueront la matière sonore qui permettra à l’équipe de travail de réaliser des pièces sonores sur des formes et des thèmes pré-définis: « Verbe & Démocratie », « Jeunesse en Errance », Europe VS Guerre » ainsi qu’un autre thème tout aussi réflexif. Les meilleurs pièces seront alors présentés lors d’une émission en direct et en publique sur le plateau du site Louis Pasteurs le 20 juillet 14:30. Egalement en direct des radios Campus de France et sur la webradio de ce même site internet.
