Claudio PRC is an Italian deep techno specialist who takes cues from avant-garde and ambient music as well as the abyssal echoes of early hypnotic acid and dub. Heʼs been active as a DJ and producer since 2006 and released his records mainly on Prologue Music, Semantica Records, and TGP, of which he is a co-founder. Since 2018 Claudio is a resident DJ in one of Pragueʼs most valued clubs, Ankali, where he curates the Volumi Dinamici night. In 2020 he founded 012, a new platform dedicated to art and sound research.

"They were wild and crazy years." The Spanish techno icon discusses his early years in Madrid, running record labels and staying true to his sound for more than 30 years.

Spanish DJ and producer Oscar Mulero is a legend of underground techno. Since starting to play parties and make music more than 30 years ago, he's earned a reputation as an anti-conformist tastemaker who's adamantly stuck to his guns. While his trajectory began with Madrid's goth and punk clubs in the '90s, he eventually found techno in the early '00s and started two labels, PoleGroup and Warm Up, as homes for the hypnotic, spaced-out sound that's become his signature. 

In this RA Exchange, Mulero reflects on the early days of the Spanish techno scene and how it's evolved, as well as his own roots and influences. Today, the artist is as active as he's ever been, he discusses how he's maintained longevity as an artist in the face of changing trend, as well as his best practices for making music at home and on the road. OCCA, who's leading the Japanese techno scene both in name and fact, is recognized as one of the special figures who continues to inspire the current scene not only as a DJ but also as an event organizer with a comprehensive perspective. 

The set he performed to close DAY 2 started with a techno sound that skillfully blended roaring bass, electronic repetitive sounds that made the audience soar, and organically intertwined drums. In the latter half of the set, when the sun emerged, the audience was treated to more ravey and, at times, even sensory numbing house music, a feat only OCCA could mix up with his solid experience of self-expression in a wide variety of venues. The three-hour set is a perfect opportunity to fully enjoy his extensive library of musics.
