"Armonie Sospese" is the audio/video project that unites the minds of Fabrizio Sala and set designer Bao Chun. 

A work divided into three acts: Prelude, interlude and final paraphrase that tells of contrasting visions and moods in the mysterious period in which life and freedom are constantly put to the test. 

The beginning and the end of everything.

I met Connor upon my return from Romania and he, among a few others I met, brought me straight back in to what I call, the good side of being in Britain.  These youngsters are extremely cultured and knowledgeable about music in general but mostly, UK music. Bringing me back straight to my home base. 

Connor's background is rooted in jungle free parties, a genre he used to also play during University times in Nottingham, in this period  he had a residency at Stealth. Later, over the years he switched to more 4x4 genres by playing jungle records at 33rpm rather than 45rpm.  At the tender age of 18 he played under the alias  'Malebox' - a disco duo with one of his closest friends where he was a resident of Shut The Front Door, a monthly party at Jamm Brixton.  It was also under this alias and his solo one that he was a resident of The Cause in London.

In 2020, Connor creates Serenity Records.  A new not-for-profit record label, aimed at raising essential awareness on the growing epidemic of mental health within the music industry, whilst also donating all proceeds of its project to various mental health charities. One of the key features of the project is to allow the artists commissioned for each EP to have the opportunity to select the particular charity that their work will support. Releases so far bring John Shima, Anna Wall, Thoma Bulwer and Innershades. 

I feel that this 1hr set that Connor recorded for us sums up all of the above beautifully, certainly a feature I want to see in artists, especially younger ones like him. Ones that honour all their influences without neglecting anything or jumping on the “current hype”.  Fascinating enough, all of the above can be heard in this elegantly built set.

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes.
