I fell in love with Will.Flo's music in 2017 and his 12" Two & Three.
It caputured my heart and my imagination. I am a sucker for artwork and screen prints and mystery and beauty. The groove and the soul reminded me of detroit. It was a love letter to somebody unkown. To a strangers ears, that we are always trying to reach. We dont know who's life we gonna change. 
I kept this 12" like a little secret, smiling at it whenever i saw it either in a pile of records that moved around the room or sometimes spinning its idiosyncratic vibes. Its beautiful when an artist manages to get their vision across but it's not always given that it is going to be heard on the first time around. All we can do is trying to repeat the process and put ourselves out there, for a stranger to find and truly love our soul that we laid bare.

The Sunrise Mixtapes is delighted to bring you another wonderful guest-mix from Balearic Social's Andy Pye.

In addition to running the Balearic Social Recordings imprint and hosting his weekly Balearic Social radio show on Music For Dreams, Andy also guests on the bi-monthly radio show Sounds In Waves on Alto Radio, and the monthly radio show Paradise Social on 1BTN.FM.

This is, as mentioned, Andy's second guest-mix for the series, and as you'd come to expect, he delivers a simply masterful selection here, no obvious records and 100% vinyl. 

We'd like to briefly mention a few of his selections, 'Window' by Nobuyoshi Ino, taken from the 1981 LP Mountain, is a fine example of Japanese jazz-fusion and ambient music. Greg Foat's 'After The Storm', a lovely slice of contemporary jazztronica (as one Discogs reviewer perfectly described it) from his 2020 double album Symphonie Pacifique. Without a doubt Foat's most accomplished release to date. Closing the mix, and pitched way down (to confuse all you Shazam'er's out there!) is the dreamy end-of-night jam 'Find It In Your Eyes' by The System. Supposedly an unreleased track from 1983, Music From Memory licensed and released it in 2016.
