This was one of my earliest "guest" mixes back in 2013. Prior to this not many people outside of Glasgow had heard my music or mixes and these guys in Ukraine had heard my mix for Racket Racket the previous year. Both of these blogs are sadly no longer active. Coincidentally, I saw this mix as a kind of "Part 2" of the "Psychic Psunshine" mix that I did for Racket Racket (https://soundcloud.com/g-k-machine/psychic-psunshine-dj-mix-for-racket-racket-dec-2013)

Krossfingers Mix#8 - GK Machine (Oct 2013)

This month exploring some of my favourite records in the so-called American Primitive genre as well as more contemporary music that was informed by it. The show features works by guitar soli pioneers John Fahey and Robbie Basho, as well as their cohort – Leo Kottke, Bola Sete, Don Bikoff, soundtrack composer Bruce Langhorne, William Eaton and Daniel Hecht. Most of the musicians above had associations and releases on sound-defining, legendary Takoma Records.
A later generation of artists that took this aesthetic in a more ‘electrified’ and occasionally minimalist (or jazz/blues-infused) direction is represented by John Lurie, Neil Young, Loren Connors and Dylan Carlson from the drone rock band Earth.

Some say it's the least productive show on PSR, counting 6 episodes in 6 years. However Gera over quantity is the thought behind it all.

Hence, after half a year of lingering, on a chilly November night CK & Linze met at the hut of magical experience to exchange libraries & improvise grooves. One did not fully know what the track will sound like or what shall happen next. However jigsaw tends to fall into place, right?

Raised in Lawrence, Kansas, USA where he still lives, James Shain has had an huge interest in music since an early age. Learning piano and drums in his school years, got interested in electronic music via Hearts of Space as a kid. He has been making music since 2008 starting as lilmanjs, and eventually dropping the name in favor of his real name and DeepWarmth for his beats.
