Blur Records returns to present the Angolan DJ, Producer and label boss - Fred Aster - and his brand new EP entitled "Summer Madness" featuring a vocal mix with lyricist Postnegative and remixes by Donnie Moustaki, HATT.D and Selva.

Having made his debut in 2020 with his 1989 LP, Fred Aster returns with a jazzy hip-hop-based track, including both an instrumental and vocal mix by Malawian lyricist Postnegative.

The first remix is by the uniquely talented Swiss producer Donnie Moustaki, delivering a perfect jazzy reinterpretation of the original, with a masterful playful and irresistible piano composition that dropped us all on the floor at Blur Records headquarters.

The second remix duty is by the Dutch wonderful producer HATT.D, who delivers a "Boombap remix", a production style prominent in the late '80s, including the Postnegative vocal mix in what is a wonderful and fresh re-write of the original.

The last remix is by the artist hailing from Merica, Selva, who drops a house-based reinterpretation featuring dusty drums, dishevelled percussion and the recognizable groovy sounds of South America, closing this wonderful and quirky EP.

Hailing from Montreal, Canada, he began listening to hip-hop at a young age having later been introduced to house music and music production. During this time he fell in love with deep and lo-fi house, which he would often have playing at after parties late into the night.

He has released on several distinguished labels such as Apparel Music, Deep Clicks, CUFF, Hustler Trax, Stashed, Closer to Truth, Play Records, Bass Box and many many others.

He is also an accomplished DJ with mixes recorded for several brands worldwide which is why we invited him to be our guest for the 101th edition of the Blur Podcasts, which is now live on our Soundcloud, Youtube and Apple Podcasts pages!

TWVA001 was born as the first deep collection of House Music. This collection was entirely produced by young and talented Italian artists. Italian Weapons are always looking for sounds from the Italian house scene, allowing their artists to travel back to these golden age sounds.

ITWVA001 Includes 5 tracks carefully selected by the Italian Weapons label. Owned by Niccolo Turini and Gunther Mian. These tracks were mastered by Michele Mucci of Nachtkerzestudio Berlin. So this was me back on the airwaves on Tues night(15/11/22)..for my fortnightly jaunt into everything D3EP. For this one I went crate diggin’ again for part 2 of the ripped vinyl sessions. On a slightly different tip, we visited some of the tracks that I grew my club career on back in the early nineties, crossing the boundaries of Early French and US jazz influenced house through to Chicago/Detroit techno. One thing is certain it was definitely deep with a wonky edge..dust ya hard hats off and enjoy ;)  Peace X

RADIO ELECTRONICA was one of the first independent radio programmes to go on air in Jena in 1999. The background was to bring colour into the dreary Thuringian radio programme and to create a platform where regional and national artists from the electronic music scene could present themselves and exchange ideas. RADIO ELECTRONICA claims to be always on the trail of new influences, trends and artists in the field of electronic music.

The show quickly developed from the first pre-productions to a live broadcast, which can be heard every four weeks on Saturdays from 7pm to midnight on the open channel Jena on UKW 103.4 Mhz and via online stream (https://radio-okj.de/wp-content/themes/radiookj/okj-player.html).

With a steadily growing fan base, RADIO ELECTRONICA is still a firm institution in the field of electronic music in Jena and beyond the city limits. Besides the latest scene trends and record presentations, studio guests are a big part of the show.
