Detroit techno innovator Robert Hood and Afro beat king Femi Kuti is not a pairing we thought we would see but it is one we are glad we have. They join forces on the former's M Plant label for this superb collision of musical worlds. It is unified by Afro beats and a unique mix of futuristic ideals with Femi's improvised jazz sax leading the way over Hood's cosmic synth sounds. The album was recorded in just one 30 plus minute take which is all the more of a testament to each artists's abilities. Femi's exquisitely free-flowing playing and Hoods signature grooves are perfectly intertwined in this great coming together of two avant art forms.

Currently focussed on his own Seclusion label, Marseille based producer, Damien Lapéna has been releasing on established techno labels such as "Soma", "Infamous Player" or on Ben Sims imprint "Symbolism" for over a decade.   He launched his Elyas project on Modularz (LA), with ten vinyl releases that aired between 2012 and 2016. During this period he had the chance to play in prestigious European clubs such as Tresor, Berghain, Corsica Studios and Cassette Club, as well as in New York where he shared the line-up with artists such as: Function, Pfirter, Developer, Grindvik etc. He has now released over 35 vinyl EPs with different projects and collaborated with artists such as Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Jerome Sydenham, Perc.

Matteo D'Avena a.k.a HALLIEN began his career in 2010 with some events in his province. He began his first musical project with "Allien Heart" until 2014, taking on its current name. He created his music with Dark and Heavy sounds, accurate and precise. He began to get passionate to Techno in 2013 and in the same year released his first EP in NGRECORDS. PITCH.1 is the musical project of Vincenzo Montalbano.
The approach to the world of clubs takes place during the years of stay in London which will guide the style with the typical sounds of house music. About 10 years ago, the great friendship and closeness with Andrea Cavani and Fabio Dall’Oglio (aka we.amps) opened the doors to the world of djing and collaboration in musical productions for him.
The many visits to Berlin clubs add minimal and dark notes to his DJ sets. Lover of 90’s techno he winks at acid, detroit, industrial sounds, with break beat parentheses.
Vincenzo is also part of the Tech Clubbers collective.

RADIO ELECTRONICA was one of the first independent radio programmes to go on air in Jena in 1999. The background was to bring colour into the dreary Thuringian radio programme and to create a platform where regional and national artists from the electronic music scene could present themselves and exchange ideas. RADIO ELECTRONICA claims to be always on the trail of new influences, trends and artists in the field of electronic music.

The show quickly developed from the first pre-productions to a live broadcast, which can be heard every four weeks on Saturdays from 7pm to midnight on the open channel Jena on UKW 103.4 Mhz and via online stream (https://radio-okj.de/wp-content/themes/radiookj/okj-player.html).

With a steadily growing fan base, RADIO ELECTRONICA is still a firm institution in the field of electronic music in Jena and beyond the city limits. Besides the latest scene trends and record presentations, studio guests are a big part of the show.
