Here's a new track by Heem, Billere & Nico Harris drawing inspiration from the Japanese jazz band Indigo Jam Unit. With an ambient atmosphere, "Reverie" is a beautiful jazz piece that builds energy as it progresses. It starts off with an ambient half, reminiscing of a dreamlike state being contrasted by high octane drums. As the track builds in intensity, more elements are introduced that eventually form into an explosive section of piano and strings which are complemented by an awesome bass arrangement. Fogroller is the first single from Cumulus Frisbee’s upcoming album “The Only Way Out is Through.” Taking subtle influence from Yussef Dayes, Elijah Fox, and BADBADNOTGOOD, this laidback jazz fusion single is inspired by the quiet feeling of watching fog roll in over the hills. The layered, swelling saxes illustrate the blankets of fog, while the drums describe its steady momentum as it creeps over a quiet landscape. The shifting patterns mimic the ever evolving nature of fog as it slowly grows thicker and thicker, only to eventually dissipate into a gentle wisp. This track is a gentle introduction to the excitement he has in store for this modern jazz fusion project.

Combining elements of progressive jazz and math rock, lead guitars whisper and moan through the beginning and foreshadow the cathartic yet explosive song’s climax. The peak suggests feelings of completely peeling from one’s old self, with torn shreds lingering behind as you thrust towards something new and radiant. At the end, relief is soon met with more mystery and suggests none of us really know what the future holds, and that the only way forward is to embrace and explore the mystery. It is more important than what answers it yields.
