I wanted to write a tribute of some kind since Ozzys passing and this is it. Black Sabbath have been a deeply important part of my life, giving it a sense of meaning in a world I rarely fit into. It felt incredibly inspiring that four men from working class backgrounds could achieve heights never seen before, all the while being sneered at by the establishment, precisely because they were from where they were from.
In my life at different points I have revered each member of Black Sabbath in turn for periods of time. At first it was Toni, he is the main inspiration for me playing guitar, then I became the "well actually" guy and became obsessed with a two man rhythm section that I still believe is the best ever, and lastly, Ozzy, it took me a good while to truly appreciate the mercurial genius that is Ozzy Osbourne; no one like him before or since. I was not sad when he passed, I felt over joyed he had the chance to play that last show, and feel how much he meant to everyone.
Anytime I play I feel I owe a debt of gratitude to those four men from Aston, All my riffs, all my lead, its just a love letter to the best band ever, Black Sabbath.
