Around 1997, Jon Turi of Sonic Groove handed me an untitled mixtape unlike any I had heard before. It's hard to put a label on this. Bleep, electro, freestyle, tech-house, techno ca. 91. It's a beautiful grab bag. I feel like I stepped into a NYC club like Danceteria ca. '91 when I listen to this.  Sadly, I can't ID enough of the tracks to attempt a playlist, outside of Tricky Disco track (Disco 130) that I named it for.

Experiment 1

Techno tape 1997.  I actually rejected this tape side as "not good enough" and didn't release it. I think my issue was that I had a hard time finding a track to get out of the Damon Wild remix of Forklift and felt that I had let it play too long.  Perfectionism is the enemy.

tracklist is a foggy memory, I tagged what artists I can remember.  First two tracks are Marco Carola from the limited 1000 Records label, followed by something tucked between both Claude Young remixes of Beltram's Start It Up.  Si Begg. I can only guess from there, except that records from Sweden, Surgeon and Jeff Mills are definitely involved.  The last two tracks are from the Joey Beltram and Surgeon.
