As part of the screenings of "PROMESA", a documentary by Michelle Falcon, the audience has been offered the opportunity of having a conversation with the filmmaker and two activists from Puerto Rico, Samantha Medina Figueroa, and Johanyvette Rodriguez Gonzalez. On this bilingual session, we discuss the current events in Puerto Rico, the  protests, activist movement, the crisis in Puerto Rico, the corruption in the local government, and the need to address all of these issues inside and out of the island.

Juan Anderson-Burgos is the City Councilor for Ward 6 in Holyoke. Running uncontested for this election, he spoke with us about the work as Councilor for the past two years, and the priorities to continue looking forward to a new term. 

In this conversation we addressed issues of safety, the importance of listening to everybody's concerns, the middle schools, and overall, how his work looks to be a mediator that integrates all parties involved in a discussion, to find a common ground where decisions are made, thinking about the benefit of the whole city of Holyoke.
