A good friend, resident DJ, label boss and founder of The Bunker NY, Bryan Kasenic doesn't usually need an introduction. We'd long seen his sorcery at the helm of the controls at numerous local gatherings, working dance floors with the precision only one with a few decades doing it could, what we'd yet to see was what he'd do on the 'ambient dance floor' i.e. Hypnotic Spa at Nowadays. Herein 96 minutes and 12 seconds attests to that query.  We had our eyes closed as we lied in the dark and dreamt sweet dreams. We recommend doing the same. Track list below. Enjoy the trip!

Šiame pasaulyje viskas turi savo vietą, bet nebūtinai turi tam paaiškinimą, kaip ir pačių garsų prigimtis ar poveikis žmogaus pasąmonei. Pristatome jums naujausią Mindless Intent serijos miksą, kurį įrašė rookas, vienas iš, Lietuvoje gerai žinomos, DAI(Didžiųjų Agregatų Inžinieriai) serijos vedlių. Selekcijoje puikiai perteikiami atlikėjo motyvai ir pati žinutė mums - klausytojams. Kiekvienas kūrinys turi savo vietą ir tarsi gyvas organizmas supranta, jam pritaikomos, nuoseklios įdėjos svarbą. Paveikslas simbolizuoja gyvybę, kuri gali būti skirtingo pavidalo, skirtingu metu. Gyvybės skleidžiama energija, yra kitokia - ji tave atpalaiduoja ir tuo pačiu užpildo iš vidaus, o tai skatina augti į kažką didesnio ir geresnio.

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing to fit the patriarchal neoliberalist mould, we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Regardless of one’s point of reference, we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

This month we have invited @kamarujoseph to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero-patriarchal systems of oppression.

KMRU is the moniker of Joseph Kamaru, a sound artist, and producer based in Nairobi. He is a regular performer at the fabled Nyegenyege Festival having also presented live performances at CTM festival and Gamma Festival. Aside from his music production, KMRU has also been presenting a monthly show on Internet Public Radio and runs the Nairobi Ableton User Group community as well as developing projects on radio art and artificial intelligence. KMRU recently participated at Mutek Montreal AI Art Lab and Gamma Lab XR (2020) collaborating on artistic based projects on artificial intelligence and extended realities.
