In 2014 Cryo Chamber got some of the most prominent dark ambient artists together to synchronize their studios during a year of collaboration creating the album Cthulhu in tribute to H.P. Lovecraft. With Azathoth Cryo Chamber double the effort with a 2 CD release follow up. No less than 20 artists has been working for the last year to synchronize and co-create Azathoth. Azathoth is a collaboration NOT a compilation. 

Azathoth is an Outer God in the Cthulhu Mythos and Dream Cycle stories of H. P. Lovecraft and other authors. 

Azathoth's precise appearance is only hinted at throughout the Mythos, and indeed may be unknowable by mortal beings. It is described as occupying a position outside of the universe, where it is attended by a cohort of alien servants

We’re so happy to guest Donato Epiro for ‘Strani Fiori’: a thematic-guestmix – accompanied by a great article – about Italian freak folk, psych and drone music produced between 2005 and 2010.
Alongside Gaspare Sammartano, the duo focuses through their Canti Magnetici label (29 releases over the past 5 years!) and blog on the research, through anomalous sounds, words and images, in the fields of natural and cultural phenomena, states of being and sciences.

We were lucky enough to come across this incredible mix on SoundCloud and felt so moved by the music that we wanted to share it on our networks with a special English-version of the article (thanks so much Donato for translating it). Thus, turn back time to the second part of the 2000’s and lose yourself into ‘Total music, but totally insane. Higly spiritual and vital, brand new but with ancient, almost ancestral roots. Somehow in between electronic meditations and infernal dances, in perpetual search of a direct and more instinctual relationship with the Natural world, to be achieved on a mystical, more earthly or cosmic level’.

This month’s program is a special one, celebrating the reissue of Industry & Leisure by Australian artist David Chesworth, on sister label BFE Records. For this special occasion Abstrakce hosts David himself as a special guest. Between 1979 and 1983 David Chesworth used to run with Philip Brophy "Innocent", a small record label releasing their own music, among other material. Enjoy this "Innocent" special, introduced in the first hour by Gamelán Psíquico with some experimental-mutant-pop tracks.
