Next up on RIDE FM: Powerhouse and marvelous banjee child Shaun J. Wright! Growing up in Chicago Illinois, the epicenter of house culture, he developed his love for dance music through high school years, while taking part in the now globally known underground dance scene known as Juke.
After contributing to the fashion scene in NYC and working as a vocalist with Love Affair and Hercules, Shaun returned 2012 to Chicago to forge his solo career and started to collaborate with DJ & Producer Alinka, starting their party Twrirl and eventually releasing their first EP, Twirl Vol. 1.
10 years later and after numerous releases and gigs at the likes of Smart Bar, Panorama Bar, Cocktail d’ Amore and Cities like LA, NYC, Barcelona and Sydney, we welcome him to the 2nd episode of RIDE FM!

Aliha attracted attention in Hamburg with some incomparable underground raves in an old abandoned bunker. Now she is the Co-Host of Hamburg's Party and Podcast Series Neogen.

She has already curated parties at various Clubs in Hamburg like PAL and Rote Flora as well as in Berlin and there is more to come from her.

Sadly her Homebase PAL had to close its doors at the beginning of the year, but stay curious there is for sure something to come.
Her sound is hypnotic with a special action groove and a glance of emotion.

For her own touch she is well known in Hamburg but also beyond.

LIRO | On The Way To Dadd Gathering 2024 Ep. 2 | 06/01/2024

Slang Teacher is the club music oriented project of Julian Lautenbacher who is currently based between Kyiv and Berlin. Interested in the intersection of Sound & Picture, he is moving between the fields of film,  photography, sound design and music in his work. Within this project his sound is heavily inspired by the 90s and a blend of different electronic music styles influenced by that era. 

His current focus is the exploration and deconstruction of conventional social structures, intimacy and the construct of human interaction in different cultures. Topics such as the unspoken, queerness, peculiar social codes and anti-discrimination are central.

VSLK: Your first DJ gig
ST: That must have been in 2016. We were running a party series in Berlin back then with the focus on yet unknown off locations for dance music events. I remember that we had this very pure vision about community, trying to create something new in the scene with more care and love for detail.

VSLK: Outside of the DJ scene, what type of art or creativity interests you the most?
ST: I think as I studied sound & music in a university, I am looking at these fields in a very broad way without any limitations of style and genre. In my perception there’s no reason to draw lines or boarders between different forms of the arts. They all flow and stimulate each other and I also like to think about creativity and the arts that way. I am definitely very fascinated by the intersection of Sound & Picture though and I am always trying to find these moments of symbiosis.

VSLK: Best city you’ve ever been to:
ST: Well, In my opinion every city has something else to offer really. I guess it always depends on what we are looking for in a certain moment. However, Kyiv is definitely up there for me for many reasons.

VSLK: Snow or Rain?
ST: Definitely Snow. It’s really quite rare that Berlin stays white or that we get a lot of snow here. I love that Kyiv is different in that sense and that the city becomes quite beautiful during the winter.

VSLK: Some personal goals for the next 12 months?
ST: Besides different music related releases which are planned for this year, I am also working on a documentary film since now over 2,5 years which I hope to be able to finish within the next 12 months.

Originally believed to be lost, this live recording of mine from almost five years ago was recently unearthed - ignore the faint buzz and get lost in this one. :-D

"Treasures are usually discovered (or identified as such) long time after the moment of their creation. Initially this recording was parked due to the constant hiss it has. Now, almost five years later, we decided to give it a another try and confirm that after few minutes of listening the hiss does not make any sense and you find yourself in the middle of a very special trip. You only should follow the very basic rule of The Listener’s Guide (and also a good one in general) - don’t scroll, let go and everything will come."
