Presenting the very first edition of the oldest active Russian psytrance label Insomnia Records’ bimonthly series is one of the most notable members of the Russian scene since the early 2000’s, none other than KOSTA a.k.a. DJ SUNSHINE.

DJ Sunshine (Kostas) got influenced with psychedelic trance music and started to play dj-sets in 2003. Since 2005 he was running the label and promo group Technical Freaks, making parties in Russia, Moscow Region and released an album of well known russian artist – Furious.
Some events were produced together with the long time established label Insomnia Records and since 2009 Sunshine is a label manager, DJ, party organizer of Insomnia and represent the label worldwide. Kostas has performed at the most well known russian festivals and also played in India, Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and other countries around the globe.

Music from Sunshine is not funky morning tunes as you can think regarding the nickname. Usually it is deep groovy night forest stories provided with special psychedelic energy. Communicating with many artists around the globe Sunshine is playing lots of new trippy stories exclusively, trying to catch the true spirit of underground.

Together with DJ Becar (the founder of Insomnia Records) in 2014 Kostas has compiled VA – Crast Test, and during the year of 2016 he is preparing a brand new compilation which will be out in autumn.

Insomnia Records’ series is back w/ Russian duo PROPAGUL.

Propagul is the project of two talented musicians from Russia, Moscow (Evgeniy and Maxim). Both started their musical experience long time ago and step by step were developing their skills in making tunes as well as djing on different parties and festivals. Evgeniy and Maxim started their psychedelic journey as two separate projects Kiru and Maximus, made lots of tunes and released many tracks on different labels such as DARK recs, Triplag music, Blitz Studios, made solo and split albums. After some years of working under solo projects they meet each other in the scene and decided to make collaborated project named PROPAGUL – its mainly forest vibes style expressing some life experience. Now guys are doing some stuff for different labels such as Digital Shiva Power, Mighty Quinn and preparing an album for Insomnia records as well as doing some collaboration with other musicians all around the world. PROPAGUL project performs in Russia ,CIS and European countries at the moment.

ALREADY MAGED | Insomnia Records Series #3 | 04/12/2017

On the 4th episode of Insomnia Records series will be presented by DJ BECAR.

Vadim Becar, the founder and creator of Insomnia Records began his trance music journey in 1995.
Started to collect tracks he shortly became one of the biggest collectors of psychedelic trance music in Russia.
From 2000 Becar visited Goa every year, where he tried himself as a dj.
Totally made up his mind which direction in the psytrance music to follow, in 2002 Becar established his label Insomnia Records  to promote this kind of music.
Since that moment Becar started to release albums of psytrance producers from the global scene, and compilations which became popular worldwide. He have compiled v/a Potatogun, v/a Invisible Incursion, v/a Tomatogun, v/a In da Blood, v/a Crash Test (together with dj Sunshine) and v/a Serial Killers.
At the same time he presented new label music in his dj-sets all around the world, in: Russia, Goa, Thailand, Ukraine, Belgium, Netherlands, Japan and more.
Apart from the label management Vadim is constantly working as a party organizer.
For now Insomnia Records, headed by Becar published lots of conceptual releases, made huge volume of parties with unique musical lineups.
One of the leading promo organizations in Russia brought to their parties a lot of psytrance masters from all around the world.
Every year from 2003 till now Becar is also organizing Insomnia Trance Culture Festival where international musicians are performing most actual sets of the modern psytrance music.

DJ BECAR | Insomnia Records Series #4 | 21/03/2017

Insomnia Records series’ next episode will be presented by Greece producer Mario Sounoglu a.k.a. MAKUMBA.

Mario Sounoglou is the Mind behind the Kokobloko, Darkshire and Makumba projects. Born and living in Athens, Greece since December 1984. Studied Computer Science in Lamia, Central Greece, then switched to Computer Animation to get his Msc Degree in Kent, UK.
Mario discovered Psychedelic Trance in early 2000 by enjoying music in Festivals and bit later Djing privately. In August 2004, Mario gets his first steps into production. At same time, Mario meets Viktor Zolotarenko in a visit to Greece and his Music Conception and Style is what influenced him to the most. His first release come out with Zolod Parasense/Terminator at Vertigo Records on 2005. Next releases follow in labels such as Discovalley Records, Tantrumm, Manic Dragon, Drop Out Productions, Mighty Quinn, Trishula, Foot Stomping Records..In 2006 the Kokobloko Project initiates it s Experiments (along with Gregorio Materia Increada/Gr.) Later on due to life complications he proceeds solo to the Kokobloko Project. His Debut Album ‘Darkshire & Amigos ‘Break Down’ comes in June 2009 in Helicon Sound System Records. Later this year follows his Split Album ‘Distorted Shire’ along with Nelsun ‘Mind Distortion System in Lycantrop Records. Meanwhile collaborations appear with Kolya Furious/Crazy Astronaut in Kolya ‘s Album Renegade in Osom Music and with Farebi Jalebi in Parvati Records. In Summer 2010 some more Releases come in Labels such as Pukkawallah (Japan), Lycantrop Records, Deviant Force Records (Germany). At Mid Autumn 2011, Mario established his own Music Label ‘Future Tribe Office’. In 2012 Future Tribe Office releases the debut Kokobloko & Friendz ‘ Pobeg V Budushee album. Later on this year Discovalley Records releases his last work of Darkshire Project , the ‘Path of Memories’ album.

At Autumn 2013 he launch his new project ‘Makumba’, evolution of Darkshire sound with it s Debut EP ‘Drawn to life’. He performed numerous times across Europe in Russia, Germany, Italy, France, UK, Belgium, Portugal, Austria, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Rebublic, Greece and Abroad Europe, in Japan, Brazil, India, Nepal. In September 2014 he releases the second full length Kokobloko album ‘FutureProof’ through Future Tribe Office’. In February 2015 A Collaboration with Matteo Radice from Italy leads to their collaborative ‘Brain Board’ Album Release also on F.T.O. The second Makumba EP “Spirit Matters” has been released on Insomnia records in December 2015 and since that moment Mario represents the label worldwide as a part of insomnian collective.
