PSYDEWISE is In Focus with us this time with a live set focusing on his latest projects, a much more refined production, as he says, compared to his earlier material. Born in Cape Town, South Africa during the late 80s, Psydewise was fortunate enough to grow up with a wide selection of alternative music introduced to him by his weird and wonderful parents. He was introduced to psychedelic trance by his aunt, who used to make mini discs with all the latest vinyl at the time, like Infinity Project, Hallucinogen, GMS, Infected Mushroom, Grapes of Wrath, Cosma, Atomic Pulse, Antix and Artefact were just a few that really rewired and inspired him! After moving to the UK and meeting people who were using Ableton Live, was the first time he used the program and was hooked. He taught himself most of what he knows today but it would never have been possible without the incredible collective knowledge of out beautiful psychedelic trance community!

In this Random episode, listen to HENKI's "Etheric Echoes: A Suomisaundi Psychedelic Voyage" set. The concept behind the mix is to immerse listeners in a psychedelic journey blending elements of suomisaundi and psytrance. Henki means "spirit" in Finnish and reflects this Japanese DJ's deep connection to music. Always listening to music, Hënkį finds her salvation in the sounds of Psy-Trance music but more particularly Suomisaundi which makes her escape from the routine sounds of citylife in Tokyo, where she hosts the renowned night "るんるん主義的スオ民の集い (Runrun-shugiteki Suomin-no-tsudoi)", which aims to expand the community of suomisaundi enthusiasts in Japan. Her sets invite you on a psychedelic journey where pop and evil mix in an unexpected fusion. Her selections take you through a trip with angels and demons, abstract and vivid dream images through ever-evolving landscapes.

This is KATAMII's set that she played after Rødhåd at this year's Daad Gathering promo party at Turbina. If you've ever been to O.Z.O.R.A. Festival, you've probably caught Katamii playing. Her sets are elemental parts of Pumpui, while she's also one of the music organizers and managers of the stage. Everything started in 2011 at O.Z.O.R.A. She played there in front of a major audience for the first time. Since then she's been the warm up artist for Yonti, The Lady Machine, KUSS, Sam Paganini, Tapefeed, Matrixxman, Marcal, Kr!z, Oliver Lieb, Moteka, Unbalance, Rene Wise, Arkan, Norman Nodge, Ignez, Olivia Mendez, Efdemin. She has shared decks with RØDHÅD, Blanka, Border One, Vil, Cravo, Deniro, Dj Kancheli, LYRIC, Mathys Lenne, Yogg, Truncate, Ø [Phase], Janina, Blue Hour, Thomas Hessler, Shlomi Aber, Luigi Tozzi, Claudio PRC and many more. She’s a resident artist at the Kolorado Festival since 2017. In 2019 she became the resident DJ in Budapest’s one of the most famous leading techno clubs the AETHER’s TAEC party series. She has a really impulsive style and you can always find that sneaky deep pulse that is present through her sets… She's a real wolf in sheep's clothing.
