Jun Show Summary (2022)

Episode Nine is an hour long imaginary soundtrack of a fascinating ritual, a mesmerizing adventure from the hypnotic state to the phase of sudden attacks. The visionary mind behind this haunting mix is Marco Mentale aka Mental, a true ozorian who has been doing his best for the stage of Dome in Josko’s team for long years.

Mental is the head of Visionary Mind, a label/collective from in and out Budapest. He curates the label driven morning slot at Pumpui stage too. Mental has been collecting music since he has memory and for a few years now and he’s been very supportive in the development of alternative stages at a few psychedelic festivals around the world.

.:. After almost 1 year of silence - we were invited to play at the Bithday Burn Festival in poland, together with my buddy & partner in crime Lilian Stark @lilianstark b2b. We played in the early morning this special selected closing set on the big floor with a wonderful sunrise in the back.

Nearly 4-hours of easy deep atmospheric techno, spherical and trippy patterns mixed with hypnotic psy vibes.

Our world is slowly waking up again, and with the absence of festivals, we couldn’t be happier than to present a live recording from this year's edition of Modem Festival. 

For the tenth episode, we have invited the talented artist Klara from Skopje, Macedonia, playing her first live set in almost 2 years. She will take you on a journey inspired by finally being among the crowd in the magical environment at the Seed stage, so be prepared to transcend back in time.

ARTIST'S BIO:
Raphael aka Taguari, is an Oslo-based DJ with a great passion for hypnotic atmospheric techno, leftfield electronic music and ambient vibes.

His journey as an DJ began in 2006 with a close friend named Dr. Getdown.

"We started collecting vinyl from funk and old school hip hop or rap and played around Munich in bars and outdoor locations".

In the following years as they played their records and moved around various events, Taguari became more involved with drum-n-bass and electronic music, and started slowly to assemble a collection of records. "Funk and rap were still in my heart, but I became more enthusiastic about the hypnotic state that techno brought into my life! The constantly changing varieties of patterns and sequences allowed endless possibilities to be creative. It was a new world for me, full of stories that wanted to be experienced".

Around 2009, started Raphael "Sunrise", a project with different souls of art and music around Munich. The group organized small raves in atypical locations like brown pubs, transforming the venue with large sound systems and art. "Our hearts were craving for creative expression to a local audience, so we used Sunrise as the platform to connect with the street. We called the events "Boazn Rave" ( a Boazn is an Bavarian word for a typical dark&dirty local pub) and for me these events were truly special experiences. A lot of what I was playing during the Sunrise project was influenced by the music, coming from the "Prologue" record label".

The end of Sunrise came in 2012 as the various members took time to explore solo projects and other pathways. Raphael felt he needed a break from the nightlife and made the decision to instead spend his time travelling.

His travel took him to Norway where he now lives and continues his passion as a hypnotic storyteller and DJ, playing at forest parties in his beloved nature or at other locations around Oslo.

"I truly enjoy being out in Nature, it's a peaceful intimate experience. It calms me down and gives me energy for the upcoming projects".

Kori and Fáni Bácsi are on the way to DAAD '22 together with us, where they will not be playing together for the first time, but it will be a special occasion, because it won't be a random gathering, but the ripe fruit of many years of work together. Both performers are representatives of the Hungarian ethno, deep, organic house, melodic techno, chill scene. They are already regular hosts of the Cooking Grove and the Daad Gathering Afterparty at Ozora now for the second time. They are not just DJs but also producers and festival organizers. At smaller and bigger parties, we can regularly see them and hear their sets at festivals. They titled this appetizing set "Do You Want a Banana?"

This Liquid Groove episode features LOE, a top DJane from Osaka's techno scene. Deep, trancey, hard, real underground style! Loe, the grandniece of avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama, started her career as a techno DJ in the Kansai region in 2005, and after appearing at DOMMUNE during REEKO (mentaldisorder)'s first solo gig in Osaka, she expanded her activities to the whole of Japan. Since 2017, she has been involved in TAKAAKI ITOH's eponymous techno party 'WOLS' as resident DJ, before launching new projects such as 'idola' and 'bond' in earnest with her friends in the scene. Her strong, sustained grooves, storytelling development and layering techniques are her specialities, and her play style, which maximizes the trippy, immersive feeling that is the real appeal of techno music, has gained enthusiastic support from the scene.

This week we have Michal Gutkowski behind the decks, also known as Ariet. His commitment to putting together music does not derive exclusively from his own energy, as he uses his rhythms as audiovisual therapies for himself and his listeners as well.

Michal resides in Poznan, Poland and has traveled many countries for his craft. On the 30th of September, Ariet has a new EP planned on the mighty KVLTÖ Records. 
Some words by the man himself: "I'm super excited to be joining some of my favorite producers like John Plaza, Vanta or Pattrn on the label. The EP consists of 4 tracks, which were produced in the autumn of 2021. I treat them very personally as they were the expression of the things that I was going through."

Definitely check it when it's out. But for now, please comfort yourself with this spectacular session.
