DJ Tsubi @ Drops Festival 2024

MoDem Festival‬ in Croatia is widely considered one of the best, and most important, festivals on the psytrance calendar. It’s influence on the festival scene cannot be understated. When I started making this music, I promised myself that, before I was 30, I wanted to play on the Hive stage. Well, 5 days before my 30th birthday, I had the honour of doing just that. It did not disappoint, and it was the best dancefloor I have ever had the privilege of experiencing.

I decided early on that this was where I was going to debut my new album (forthcoming soon on Bom Shanka Music) and record the entire set. So, here it is – the full video of my set on Thursday 8th August 13:30-15:00 on the Hive.

Thank you to everyone that danced, everyone that filmed and everyone that gave me emotional support in the stress of finishing the tracks before the gig! A huge thank you to Valentino Vert3x,  Tomislav, Mike, Val, Bom Shanka Music, Wildthings Records crew and everyone that made my week the best ever!

This mix traverses the full spectrum of psytrance, beginning with groovy morning grooves and ascending into the immersive depths of full psychedelia, offering a seamless exploration of sonic dimensions. The Mechanical Species project is the culmination of 14 years of audionomic exploration. His style is diverse, stretching from dusk to dawn, and is characterized by storytelling, often incorporating melodic elements and unpredictable compositions. He is well known for his energetic live performances, which have been experienced at parties and festivals in 17 countries worldwide.  As one of the early members of Forestdelic Records, he played a key role in shaping the Forestdelic sound.
