“ECT can have a beneficial effect and in some cases be life-saving. We are aware that some people experience short-term memory loss and other side effects, but as with any treatment the risks must be balanced against the benefits…

Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT), also known as electroshock, is a well-established, albeit controversial, psychiatric treatment in which seizures are electrically induced in anesthetized patients for therapeutic effect…

…or alternatively, it is the nom de plume of UK-based producer Leigh Griffiths, a survivor of the 90s London psychedelic party scene.

His early tunes, released on Phantasm and Psychic Deli Records in 1997-98, are now widely considered to be all-time classics of the genre, and indeed have sometimes been cited as an influence by the later generation of trance producers.

Subsequent releases – including the cult favourite ‘Pigmies’ collaborations with Mass (Afro-Celt Soundsystem) – also broke new ground… the whole point of the ECT project being to test all accepted boundaries of psychedelic dance music – rhythmically, sonically, whatever.

(… and to have a bit of a laugh along the way…)

Over the last eighteen years, Leigh has performed live and DJed his satirically warped brand of dirty psychedelia to discerning party crowds all over the world, and – despite being possibly the laziest producer in trance – occasionally manages to drag himself out of the pub for long enough to write fresh tunes.

In his autobiographical book ‘Electroboy’, American writer Andy Behrman describes undergoing ECT as a treatment for bipolar disorder while under house-arrest:

“I wake up thirty minutes later and think I am in a hotel in Acapulco.
My head feels as if I have just downed a frozen margarita too quickly.
My jaws and limbs ache.
But I am elated.”

As the next part of the series label DJ FOG presents you the Looney Moon sound in his brand new mix.

Listening to goatrance since 1994, he started djing in 1998 and played at first party in 2000; in 2004 he opened Looney Moon party org with a bunch of friends, and started producing events all over italy and abroad. Due to the success of the party org, In the end of 2007,the group decided to open Looney Moon records.
Label dj for the swiss label Peak rec since 2006 and label manager of Looney Moon rec with dj Phobos since the very beginning, dj Fog has rocked countless events all over the globe, including a lot of the bigger festivals.
He is mostly playing “Looney Moon” style but he has also a rich selection of forest and psychedelic / dark progressive: his sets on any style are rich of unreleased stuff from all the artist-friends around the globe and you can expect to hear long and clean mixes.
Beside being behind Looney moon records, that is lately having a great success worldwide, Fog is also co-founder of “Collider Art Gallery”, “Looney Moon Deco” and the stretch tents company “Tentourage”, as well as artistic and logistic consultant for several other events all around the globe.

Z3nbugs is the collaborative project of Z3nkai - Digital Shamans Records and the high energy Mexican duo that is Mental Bugs - Digital Shamans Records. Having newly joined forces, they all now proudly present their first EP, Liquid Sky. Both acts have already made incredible waves in the psychedelic community and this new project is expected to be no exception and further push the boundaries of psychedelic trance.
