Legendary goa trance label, Matsuri Records’ reincarnation, MATSURI DIGITAL’s series kicks off with Japanese duo JIKOOHA.

Jikooha is Japanese word, which means “the wave of time and space”.
Tokyo-based trance duo Jikooha comprises of two Japanese, Jun and Shimodi, who played in a punk and new wave influenced alternative rock band in early ’90s. In 1996, they found the sound of Goa Trance that led them to form Jikooha in 1997 and started to produce their own trance tracks.
While remained committed to their unique mixture of goa trance and punk rock influence, Jikooha’s eclectic and unique sound shows their love of all music. They use many analog gears like Arp Odyssey, Roland Juno-106, TB-303, SH-101, Korg MS-20, etc. and sometimes they are experimental when making their unique goa tunes; the process they believe is their search for spiritual journey.
Jikooha has been playing their gigs at many parties from 1999 and has released many tracks for various compilations with much good feedbacks. In 2003 they released the 1st album “New Breed” on Tod Aquarium Records in Japan, later then the 2nd album “Shamanarchy” on Panorama Records in 2006. Two years later, their tracks were getting more melodic and acidic, the 3rd album “Revolution Spaceship” was released on Panorama Records again. They also released the 4th album “Sirius Rising” in 2012.
After 5 years from the previous album, finally they released their 5th album from a legendary label Matsuri Digital.The album is including very hypnotic and acidic 9 tracks with their attitude. This musical journey appears the trust for freedom, mind expansion, and whole one harmonious universe. You can feel and dance to these deep shamanic sounds. So now, open your mind and decode reality!

Since the 1980s, Minoru Tsunoda has been working as a vocal and guitarist in alternative rock bands. In 1998, as a guitarist he joined the unit of DJ TSUYOSHI, “JOUJOUKA” where he still operates as a computer manipulator. He started his DJ career at the same time, appearing at many Japanese events and festivals such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL. He actively performs overseas especially in Asian countries. He is not held back by genre, and mixes trance, techno, house and rock, and aims to create a new type of Psychedelic Trance. He also shows a very unique performance with his avant-garde style of playing the guitar while DJing.
He continues to create tracks and remixes as well, and in 2010 he released the long awaited first solo album “BLOW” touring over 20 venues, expanding his audience. In the recent years he has been actively doing remix works, such as Ace Ventura & Symbolic’s “Prime Time Joujouka Remix” (IbogaRecords ) and Captain Hook & Perfect Stranger – “Perfect Hook Joujouka Remix”.
In addition, he worked on diverse collaborations, like the track “Funky Gong” on the album “UP” released in 2011withrenowned UK guitarist Steve Hillage as Gong / System7, with whom he also later performed Live in March 2015 at Ageha, Tokyo. In November 2015, Funky Gong’s long-awaited 2nd Album “Beyond The Light” has been released. Currently, This work combines a variety of musical elements, depicting MINORU musical world.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since I first heard this unique brand of electronic music in Tokyo and experienced major life trajectory change. There are impressions that have stayed with me from that first party in Tokyo (and many other key ones around the world) which I tap into when I’m playing my own sets: echoes and oscillations, alternating patterns, mysterious harmonies and melodies, guitars beamed down from another dimension, words triggering consciousness-expanding associations. I aim for my sets to have a flow of musical styles with a range of moods, styles, chords, and tempos, with the intention of recreating that otherworldly atmosphere that woke me up from the hypnosis of ordinariness back in 1994. This mix was created to celebrate 2020 and the Clear Vision that this number suggests… here’s to a year of crystal-clear vision and expansive experiences! – DJ Solitaire

“ATESH” is a Japanese/Indian born in Osaka, Japan. Since he was a child he fell in love with various tribal electric music such as Goa Trance, Psychedelic Trance, Ambient Music, etc. He started DJing in 2007 and played at various club events and festivals all over Japan such as “Nagisa Music Festival 2012”, “Matsuri Deep Experience”, etc. He has created a production named “Powerholic” and he organized and hosted the “Izanagi Festival 2015”, “Matsuri in Osaka”, and “Psychedelic Friday” which runs every month since 2019. He put together a group with his partner, KN1 called “Amartman” which is psychedelic session band and consists of a collaboration with digital percussion, drum and tribal instruments. He is also a teacher at a DJ school in Osaka called “IDPS”. He has fully joined this label “Matsuri Digital” in 2019.

Coming your way is SHIVATRANCE’s set in Matsuri Digital series. This fresh off the press groovy, goa-influenced full-on live mix is a collection of SHIVATRANCE’s collaboration tracks Nori made with close-knit fellow artists such as Tsuyoshi Suzuki or CPU.

SHIVATRANCE is a solo project by Norihiro Shibata.
He fell in love with the trance scene in 1990’s, and began his career as SHIVATRANCE in 2000.
In 2003, he started organizing his own events. As his reputation grew and his circle of influence expanded and so did his appearances on major stages worldwide.In 2006, on a sabbatical to Israel he discovered studio music making, and when he returned to Japan he immersed in making music.

In 2008, his music style had changed to live sets and live performances.
In 2009, he begun the GOA & Psy-Trance Party called「604」, which has continued as a regular event since then.
In 2016, he also established an record label 「604 Recordings」which in the years since has continued to evolve great music dynamically.

Since 2017, every year his record label has produced the annual open air event, Astral Dimension.
2020, has more exciting releases with his latest collaboration track with Tsuyoshi Suzuki and CPU, scheduled to dropped at stages of several worldwide events this year.

CYLON is back on radiOzora, this time in Matsuri Digital series.

CYLON is the Psychedelic Trance project of Takeo Namiki based on Japan.
His experience as a main guitar player from Heavy Metal/Hard Core/Funk/Loud Rock give him insights on his productions.
One day, he realized “I need to seek a musical platform which is a common style for all the humanity on our mother earth”. And then, he finally met and fell in love with this kind of dance music called psychedelic trance! It also seemed like there needed to be some more groovy sounds like funk music put into this kind of psychedelic music. So, he made a decision that “I’ll be with this scene till I die”.
The humanoid CYLON was born in 2011 for spreading out his DNA around the world.
He produces cutting-edge Progressive Dance tracks which combines the sound from Analog to Digital and Real Band music to the electronical cyber sound which will take you to the next level of the journey.
He has played on the main stage of mammoth festivals like Boom, Origin, Rezonance and Ozora, and always wants the audience to understand who they are, realize the energy they are emitting, and to find the balance to live harmoniously with other beautiful souls around them.
“Psychedelic, Dance, Groovy, Fractal and Life”. These five words describe the CYLON sound.

UNI is a Psychedelic Trance project based in Japan, established by Yasunori Matsuda & Yamazaki Yasushi. Musically influenced by Goa Trance and started production in the middle of 96. Their style is an impressive melody and story which created a fusion Japanese style.
UNI played at hundreds of events in Japan including legend partiesand international big parties in Taiwan, Greece, Australia, and Israel. It presents a one-of-a-kind story, world view, which mixes old songs with striking melodies and fat, groovy new songs.
Uni has released 5 albums so far.Their first album "UNI" in 2000, 2nd album "Venus" in 2002, 3rd album "La Movin'" in 2004 and 4th live album "Live union" in 2006, 5th album "New Understand" in 2008. Currently produced by Matsuda alone, also UNI released a single on Future Music Records, BMSS Records and BlueTunes Records, Matsuri Digital in 2020.
