Interview with Vlastur 19/04/2014

Vlastur started his journey into music as a Bass player. Back in the mid-80's, he was a founding member of the Cohash Funk, an underground funky Athenian group. In 1998 alongside Frequency Freak, fellow Cohash funk guitarist and Spiris, a dubby drummer, formed "Apeuthias Syndesi" now known as Direct Connection, a dub experimental laboratory. They released "Dub Infection" in 2007. Even though he started as a Bassist in Direct Connection, he was the main FX Sound Engineer of the band.

In the meanwhile he was also working as a session musician with various artists and bands. In 2004 he teamed up with Palyrria an ethnic-electronica band and in 2005 recorded "Methexy" with them and has played in many of their gigs. 

The (InterAxion Dub) project is the first fully length work of Vlastur. Influenced by all his beloved sounds from Dub to Dubstep trough Psy, Ambient, Drum n' Bass and Traditional Mediterranean sounds ! 

Vlastur is the live project of him. The active members right now are: Dark Elf (Synth/Machines) + Tolis aka DreamMadeTeller on percussions and vox, also Akbar on percussions, Wee (Guitar) + G.Verix as a sound engineer, while other have been participating the previous years, like Frequency Freak (Guitar/Synths), Spyro K. (Drums), Elena (Vocals), Pan Kaperneka (Flute) and Dinos Z. on the sound consoles. Vlastur believes that the sound evolves constantly while the vibe remains the same, from Rock n' Roll to Punk and from Dub to Psy.

Every Saturday afternoon beginning at 5pm CET we will be paving the path leading to O.Z.O.R.A. 2014 by introducing one of the performers from the brand-new lineups. The show will reflect the structure of our well-known ‘Conversation Series’, including not only a talk with the artists, but also a warmup mix for the summer experience ahead made exclusively for the radio. This weekend our guest is DUST (Looney Moon Records) who will perform on the Ozorian Main Stage.
Dust’s unique sound has been released worldwide since 2008. 

Melting groovy, full-on oriented basslines and rhythms with night time psychedelic sounds. 

Dust has played live across the globe in countries such as Australia, Usa, Brazil, Israel, Russia, India, South Africa, New Caledonia, Canada, England, Germany, Greece, Austria, Cyprus, Portugal and Turkey. 

The debut album ” I don’t like psychedelics” was released in February 2012 on Looney Moon Records, as well as the new album ” My friends love psychedelics” released in March this year. 

Alongside his Solo project, Dust is part of a few other collaboration projects such as Foam with Assioma, Dustinface with Phase ,Comadust with Comasector (hypogeo) and Mindshuffle with Ilai

On our way to O.Z.O.R.A, our next talk is with Si Mullumby of Wild Marmalade. And not only because: "Wild Marmalade fuse cutting edge didgeridoo dance grooves with some of the finest beats from the rising Australian Drum Culture. Their music has inspired a wave of didgeridoo dance bands globally. Innovative, contemporary and uniquely Australian high-energy dance music."
But also because they put on one of the most amazing concerts last year and will be there again this summer, as the main opening day show in the Dragon Nest, with perhaps even more spice for our senses because Si is bringing along his original Australian drummer and also an Australian guitarist, and an Israeli musician as well. Wild Marmalade are a High-Energy Organic Trance, Drum and Didj band based in Byron Bay, Australia. Playing "totally live" with ferocious intensity, they create inspired organic dance music, without the use of any electronic machines. Blending the ancient sounds of the didjeridoo with contemporary dance beats. The music of Wild Marmalade is organic and live - every sound you hear is made by the musicians. 

Wild Marmalade create a musical intensity usually only heard from computers and synthesizers, combined with the excitement of inspired musicians being moved by the energy of an audience. Drawing on rhythms from all over the world and inspired by both indigenous sounds and the grooves of the present,Wild Marmalade's high energy shows uplift audiences with their display of powerful, joyous and infectiously danceable music. 

Wild Marmalade are a formidable force in world dance music. They have worked with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas and Montreal, toured Japan, Europe, the USA and Australia.

This time the band leader Si Mullumby brings his original drummer Ben Walsh together with Australian guitar phenomenon Paul George and magical string player Udi Ben Knaan from Israel.

Interview with Tengri 17/05/2014

Tengri is Leonid “Leo” Golcev from Macedonia. 

An accomplished producer and formally trained pianist, Leo first came in contact with psychedelic music in the early 90s and started djing chill and psytrance in 1995. Influenced by the early 90s psychedelic chill and goa music combined with dub, ethno, deep and atmospheric sounds, he soon ventured into music production. 

Leo is not a newcomer to the international psychedelic scene, he first became prominent in 2003, when he formed the psychedelic powerhouse duo “Atriohm” with his brother Sashe. In the following years, they toured the world together, providing psytrance lovers with heavy-duty nighttime rhythms, while also releasing a number of stunning chill tracks.

Opting for a more relaxed lifestyle, Leo eventually quit Atriohm (now continued as a solo act by Sashe), and dedicated himself exclusively to the exploration of various downtempo forms and the production of quality chill music. His new solo project Tengri was born in 2011. 

The name Tengri (literally “blue” in Mongolian), originates from the primary father deity in the ancient central Asian religion Tengrism (or Tengriism), whose followers aim at an existence in harmony with the surrounding world and sustained by the eternal blue sky (Munkh Khukh Tengri).

Tristan "On the Way to Ozora Vol. 4" 10/05/2014

On the next chapter of 'On the Way' MAN EX MAQINA's leader Max Moya will introduce us to the secrets of his band on the 31st May 2014 Saturday 5pm CET on the Chill channel.

Maxwell Moya Wright is a percussionist, composer and a member of the music group OJOS DE BRUJO, with whom he has won several awards: a Latin GRAMMY in 2008, a second nomination in 2011, a BBC Award in 2004 and the PREMIOS DE LA MÚSICA in 2006. 

His musical experience also includes playing live with well-known bands such as NITIN SAWHNEY, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION, OKOU and more.

Along with Cuban rapper Kumar Sublevao Beat, Max Moya is inspired by and uses the great voices of Tal Ben Ari (Playing for Change), the great Cuban singer Mel Semé (Black Gandhi), the English-Algerian vocal-loop artist Ayesha and last but not least, the unique voice of Guinean singer Mû. 

Using only sounds produced by the human body, Man ex Maqina transforms this unique material through loops, samplers, effects and scratching, among other techniques, to take the sounds of the human body to new undiscovered heights.

On Our Way to Ozora we continue our journey into a world of zen and creatures within, to catch a glimpse of what the Chill Out Dome will have in store for us this summer. Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã are bringing you the sounds of Zen Baboon. Tune in on 7th June 2014 Saturday 5pm CET on the Chill channel.

Zen Baboon is composed by Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã. 

Both were born in the 70`s in Portugal and since an early age kept a close connection with the music world. Musically and without mention any names and styles, both love projects with great sound quality and with original construction.

Daniel is a sound engineer that worked in a Lisbon studio for National Geographic documentaries and started producing electronic music in the late 90′s.

Henrique, a zoologist, lives and works in his own farm. Started as dj, (dj henriq to name him) and producer in 2001. They got together in 2003 and decided to melt their musical preferences and create Zen Baboon.

With several tracks on VA compilations, their first album “Suber” was released on Electrik Dream records in 2013. They work basically apart and with the same software, keeping the continuous learning process awake.

During our talk live from the studio, Dr. Sally and Prof. Béla will introduce us to the different levels of consciousness and how the Wheel of Wisdom can help us find out who we truly are, becoming a force in the world “that makes a difference, that helps with the environment, that helps with the connection to the earth, that helps with the development of the spiritual aspects of your life.”
