Random Records presents DON PEPE and "The Secret Chamber of Dreams". This DJ-set is an extension of his upcoming album "Mossbädd Sessions", where a couple of the album tracks will be spotted. Not bound to any particular genre, this is a deep, pure and futureprimitive take on electronic trance music. Don Pepe fell into the rabbit hole of psychedelic music in his early teens 20 years ago, and started playing around with DJ-gear soon after. Many deaths and rebirths have passed since then, where the only constant has been a neverending, everlasting love for musical, natural and transcendental exploration. Although deeply rooted in ”Psy”, he’s equally active in chill out and alternative dance floor settings, fusing his many influences into dynamic, emotive marathon DJ-sets. In recent years he has put more focus towards the production side of things in the studio, resulting in two debut albums released later this year. Partly as Pepe’s Bodega, his Psytrance collaboration project, on Mark Day’s new label Muinima Sounds, and partly the "Mossbädd Sessions" album on Random Records. The latter is a compilation of tracks made in the spring of 2021, while living in Mossbädd deep into the woods of Södermanland. Influenced by past travels, nature and many corners of his record collection, it’s a deep dive into Don Pepe’s musical legacy. Apart from that he has worked as a music journalist within the Swedish Electronica scene, artist manager for international festivals like Midnight Sun Festival, and is currently running Navigare Audio, a record label focusing on deep, entrancing Techno.

Among many crazy and funny things I said (and did) this summer, one sentence glued to my mind: 

LIFE IS A WONDERFUL THING TO WASTE! 

I meant this in a sense of "how much of ourselves are we willingly suffocating to maintain the image THEY have imposed on us so that we can develop, progress and move freely?" Life's too short to maintain that image. Live your life the way you want. Your life is only yours, and if it makes you happy to "waste it", well it's yours to waste!

After five or six years I played (almost only) a deep techno set at The Swamp, Mo:Dem Festival. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

In my process of overthinking I labeled my style of (writing and) DJ-ing as BRICOLAGE /ˌbrɪkəˈlɑːʒ/. In the arts, bricolage (French for DIY or do-it-yourself) is "the construction or creation of a work from a diverse range of things that happen to be available, or a work constructed using mixed media." This definition fully and realistically corresponds to what I'm creating, whether it is a text or a DJ set. This definition also fits my punk philosophy and aesthetics.

Mindspring Music now presents AEONIUM. Aeonium presents a wide variety of psychedelic genres in both his released music and this hybrid mix. As Aeonium is just one of the many projects of Dutch multi-genre multi-instrumentalist Maurits “Momo Mau” Nieuwenhuis, it makes sense that his wide diversity in musical interests is represented in this project. Using a wide range of techniques to craft his music, Momo is always working on more and more different music under any of his many projects. Even when the first Aeonium album “I The Beholder” was underway, a new album had already been started, as well as several side-projects, collaborations and remixes under the Aeonium moniker, let alone his other projects. The future looks bright and inspiring for this one.
