[DHRK SONIK RADIO] - PODCAST 01 DECEMBER 2021 - F.I.E.T.E.

DJ Basilisk returns to the ecstatic idealism of the early 1990s on TRANSMISSIONS FROM LYONESSE, the latest in an ongoing series of concept mixes documenting electronic music subcultures of the past. This time around the journey leads from scintillating ambient techno arpeggios and idyllic IDM to the raging heights of full-on Goa trance (and back again). Ultimately the aim is to capture some of the magic of the outdoor festival experience circa 1996, particularly in the UK and continental Europe. Many of these tracks are rough around the edges, and several have been lightly edited and remastered exclusively for this mix.

VATSANAH is also On the Way to Daad with us. Vatsanah's journey in music spans across a decade - its repetitive aspects are chained into a multi-genre pattern - her sets though are also determined by the actual venue and its impressions as a community. They are also characterised by refined tansitions with analog synth layers towards grooves and basslines. I'd like the repetitive aspects of dance music. This mix melts genres with one another, using different patterns as building blocks. The tracks I play are revolving around techno and electro, with the raw and powerful sound of analog instruments.

This Lost Minute features NAGA. Naga started out DJing in '94 as the first delicate waves of Budapest based rave culture became surfable. In his long decades in electronics he also contributed to Tilos Radio and Chi-recordings, but his collaborations with DJ friends had the most remarkable effect on the local music scene. With Beta he co-founded Hairy Records, and their House2house has been a regular night since then. With Peter Bernath they formed a gig series called 'Lost Minute' presenting innumerable guests from the worldwide house-under scene like Ada Kaleh, Anton Kubikov, Christopher Ledger, Delano Smith, John Dimas, Vid, among others. Their yearly b2b sets at Ozora has always been a slow mounting to inner highs - presented with much care and concentration -, and also a nice occasion for a hypnotic gathering.

This Atmospherica Exotica episode features SWITCH NOLLIE with this recording from December when Shed was visiting Aether Club in Budapest. Switch Nollie had the chance to do the warmup and prepare a hypnotic set from a different perspective. The mix starts slower but is more on the techno spectrum. It contains releases which he has played regularly in the last couple of years and also tracks he has never played before. Enjoy the first 2 hours of that night, which Switch Nollie says, fits in the Atmospherica Exotica series too!

Resident DJ of the German music label Glitchy.Tonic.Records. During his time on the label he released three compilations: Hypno.Tembr and Fractal Tales (1,2), which includes tracks of the world-famous trance musicians.

His work on the label has not gone unnoticed and Dmitry is now also signed in English-Australian label Insonitus records.

Having a lot of fellow musicians/DJs around the world and supporting music labels ensures that Asygen always has unheard and unreleased tracks for his performances.

In addition to trance music he collects vinyl techno records of a deep and hypnotic sound. Organizer, DJ of Te4enie - techno parties in Moscow Region.

Co-Founder of Touched music - promo group who oriented on hypnotic techno parties with known artists from the labels: Semantica, PoleGroup, Midgar, The Gods Planet, Hypnus and etc.

As a DJ he played in the Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, India, regularly performs in Russia.

DJ Crimson presents POISON CRY. My new alias is just for fun and based on a misheard title of a song. The intereference between the original and the new version fits the atmosphere and the versatility of my Amour De Vacances nights all that well. These all nighter sessions in my beloved bars of Budapest (Nemdebár and Telep) are about wild mood swings and radical genre twists in flawless or even shaky but always freely mixing flow. If you are okay with the reminiscence of 80/90’s productions, dreamy harmonies, ridiculous romantic or freaky themes in the mix of deep and dubby house, original new wave digs, cheesy italo licks, sick acid disko, obscure electronics and beyond here is a long one for your enjoyment.
