At least that's what we did in the summer of 2021, when the window of opportunity opened up for us to organize a small gathering after a year of the pandemic.

We are happy to share sounds from unique Mo:Dem Mutations events.

Mo:Dem Mutations V.1 : from 9 to 15 August 2021 
Mo:Dem Mutations V.2 : from 16 to 22 August 2021

Mo:Dem Mutations V.1 & V.2 took place on the lower part of the Mo:Dem location, on the banks of the Mrežnica river. Mutations were featuring our usual musical program, with a slight alteration. As The Hive stage was closed, visitors were able to witness a unique, once-in-a-modemtime experience of The Hive music concept on The Swamp island. At the same time The Seed featured a blend of The Swamp and The Seed music.

Once again we wish to express our love and gratitude to the friends, family, artists and visitors that supported us during these weird and hard times. Next edition of Mo:Dem Festival is scheduled for 8 - 14 August 2022.

For over three decades Toby Marks, aka Banco de Gaia, has been redefining world electronica, leaving an indelible footprint on the global music scene, rousing many a dancefloor, and inspiring countless musicians to follow. At the forefront of blending acoustic and electronic sounds, integrating themes and techniques from cultures and traditions the world over, Toby has worked with musicians and producers as ingenious and diverse as Pink Floyd’s Dick Parry, Natacha Atlas, Tim Wheater and Hawkwind – to name just a few. Ranging from cinematic ambience to pounding dancefloor-fillers, his music defies genres, and borrows from a wealth of musical sources and styles. Toby’s background in jazz and rock combine with his love of dance and world music to produce a glorious, uplifting and, at times, mesmerizing sound.

Lost Minute is with ZEMAR KAMBAS in this episode. Zemar Kambas began making music in 2000, starting with hip-hop tracks that used jazz and classical samples. By 2006, reggae inspired him to produce dub music, and he also began DJing in these genres. In 2010, he discovered electronic music, initially favoring dubstep but later exploring house and techno.  In 2013, he launched Nextapes, an electronic music event series in Miskolc, Hungary, featuring top Hungarian DJs like Jay Lumen and Budai. Alongside DJing and organizing events, he has been producing music since 2012, with his first official release coming in 2016.  Since the 2020s, he has focused on dub-influenced electronic music and joined Phonoda Records in 2023, marking a new phase in his career.

Beginning in 2000, I started making music. Initially, I created hip-hop tracks using jazz and classical music samples. From 2006, I began listening to reggae music, which inspired me to create dub music alongside hip-hop. During this time, I also started DJing, focusing on reggae and dub music.

In 2010, I was introduced to electronic music. Initially, I was drawn to filthy dubstep tracks, but I later developed an interest in house and techno music.

In 2013, I founded Nextapes, an electronic music event series in Miskolc, Hungary. These events have featured top Hungarian DJs such as Jay Lumen, Budai, Gaga, Peter Makto, Metha, and more.

In addition to DJing and organizing events, I also produce my own music. Since 2012, I have created many remixes. My first official release was published in 2016.

Since the 2020s, I have started to focus on dub-influenced electronic music. In 2023, I became part of Phonoda Records, marking a new chapter in my music career.
