This is the first song from my three-track instrumental EP! It takes influence from a number of other artists, including music by Alice Glass of Crystal Castles, and Laura Les of 100 Gecs. There are also some samples from Cymatics interspersed within, and a number of samples from the Amethyst pack by Narn Stuff on YouTube. The 'LIGHTSPEED' EP takes influence from genres like hyperpop, trap, and EDM, and it was created to provide fun new instrumentals that surpass genre boundaries for people to enjoy. In keeping with my tagline of 'brain breaking beats' the EP will include some of the most complex and innovative instrumentals that I have made. It was made using mostly stock plugins except for Vital; the high pitched, glitch-like background melody is just one of the the Oolacile presets with half speed thrown on. There are also a handful of Cymatics samples within, because of course there are, and the song also includes some drums from Narn Stuff’s “Amethyst” sample pack. The EP itself takes influence from genres like wave, hyperpop, trap, and EDM, and it was created to provide fun new beats that surpass genre boundaries for people to enjoy. 'Whirlpools' is my favorite attempt at making EDM thus far, and I'm thrilled to be able to share the results now! As a melody-driven dance track, it doesn't fit squarely into any particular genre, but is preeminently a blend of trap, future bass, and house, with some techno and dubstep influences as well. I’ve been working on this song for almost a year, and it went through several iterations before reaching a level where I became excited to release it. I’ve wanted to make EDM for a while, but simply didn’t have the skillset for it until recently. However, after I began going to shows and attending EDC Orlando in 2023, I knew this was something I simply had to pursue. My goal is to establish a niche that blends together house, techno, and future bass, some of my favorite genres. Cryosphere has become the most recent proxy for that, and best represents the direction I want to take with my music in the future.
