Here's Jamie....."I’ve been hugely influenced and connected to music since I was born, being a celebrated musician’s son. From playing various instruments in my younger years to signing in TV productions on Channel 4 (before the voice broke!) music has always been part of my DNA in some way, shape or form.

Reaching my twenties, I gravitated towards making music in a different way, namely DJing, which coincided with the growth in popularity of dance music. It was a privilege to be a part of this early sound in the UK and bring people together during the nineties and early 2000’s when I DJ’d in a variety of venues. Then, as generally happens, work and ‘adulting’ got in the way.

Fast forward to lockdown in 2020, I dusted off my decks, reconnected with much-loved tracks from the past and discovered new genres and artists from the present. Since then, I’ve been able to get back in the groove (excuse the pun) and find myself relaxing after a busy day at work by working on new sets to share with friends and family.

Typically, I’d say the sort of music I play is drum and bass with a slice of soul and a dash of breakbeat, so for my first Sprift Soundcast, I wanted to offer you a mix of these genres that sits nicely as a soundtrack for your weekend and makes a great partner for your workout, or perhaps even both!"

This song is called MEAN, I wrote it a while back when I first started University. As a person I am sometimes quite self conscious and I overthink especially in new situations. However, I noticed there are more arrogant people in the world who are mean for the sake of it and do not care what others think. I wrote this song to think about what it would be like to be one of those people but then I came to the realisation that that is not apart of my journey and simply is not me. I hope you enjoy it <3

Hi all, I'm an ex-session bass player that during the late 80's early 90's worked with major UK artists on TV, recording, tours.
I have arranged projects and produced sessions for both UK and US artists in the past but after a long break have now been invigorated by latest tech to start writing again.

Apart from my day to day Corporate work I'm now concentarting on writing, arranging, playing bass and producing new tracks, artists and projects, also setting up a production company to work with new upcoming artist that have style and most importantly a talent.
