Mixed live at Fuzz.  Pittsburgh's and possibly the nations longest running DNB weekly to hold down the same venue for 14 years now.  Featuring Tracks from Myself, RNDMTSK, Mechanical Advantage Digital Recordings, Savory Audio's ABZ, Mason of Gazm in Philly, The Brigade, and many others and like the rest of the dnb community I gotta thank The Upbeats and Noisia for Loudmouth, can't get enough of that tune.

Begining as a party kid in the 90's DJ Alaska(Jay Chitty), fell in love with the heavy bass sounds of Djs Sensio and Tiga while going to raves in the Rochester NY area.  With easy access to Toronto Canada he was able to see djs like DJ HYPE and Grooverider easily and was completely convinced that this was something he was born to do.  Upon moving to the Pittsburgh are for school Jay began learning to DJ with his friend and future roommate Eli and from there he began hustling mixtapes to everyone who was interested in his unique style of long mixes and his infusion of hip hop and jungle music. 
 
After a nice stint as a professional underground DJ, Jay became interested in working on throwing events in the area.  He began working with a group of DJs and music lovers on the SCJ Steel City Jungle Tuesday night weekly.  Working along side local Drum and Bass Djs, Sine, Saint, and Dj2, Jay was a resident and promoter for the night as well as working with Nick BulletProof, of tellubproof recordings, to design and implement a floating turntable support for the stage that kept dancers from skipping records through out the night.

After SCJ stopped happening there was a void left in the Drum and bass community in 1999.  Jay and Nick decided to start a Wednesday night Drum and bass weekly called Balance in the South Side.  After a short run they decided to team up with another group doing a night also on Wednesday in Oakland at the now gone Beehive in Oakland.  This was nice but it did not quite fit what they were trying to accomplish as a goal of providing awesome DnB headliners and locals at an affordable price in a relaxing kind of Dive like atmosphere.  That's when Nick started a relationship with the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern (BBT), the current home of Fuzz.  At the BBT they began as Balance, then after a series of unfortunate events they stopped the night.  But with out skipping a beat some of the locals picked it up and Jay got back involved and the music has not stopped since.  That was 1999, now in 2012 Fuzz is 13 years strong and has evolved into a venue that Djs around the world enjoy playing in.  

After the loss of SCJ Drum and Bass in Pittsburgh lost some of it's forward momentum but with the rise of Balance/Fuze/Fuzz, the scene was reborn and Jay had an idea that if the players worked together rather than against each other the DnB scene would be stronger and we could have bigger fun.  He contacted some of the Drum and bass DJ's from a variety of crews that he had played with in the past that, "represent", and proposed that they work together to throw events and promote good times and great talent, in our City and beyond, under the name 412DNB.  Thus the 412DNB crew was born.  Along with numerous contacts and friendships, 412DNB Dj's continue to throw events and play shows all over the country and beyond. Jay now only participates in Fuzz as a guest Dj.  Jay continues the legacy of Pittsburgh Drum and Bass as DJ Alaska and producer RadMax. Trying to do his part in keeping Pittsburgh at the forefront of Dnb.

Jay began Producing with partner in crime and roomate DJ Midas of 412dnb in 2005, under the moniker RNDMTSK (RandomTask).  Having Been released on Core Recordings with a remix of another Pittsburgh producer GPKs tune "Saw is Family" and recently on Mechanical Advantage Digital recordings with a tune called "Reason Why". RNDMTSK went on to produce about 12 tunes before splitting up when Midas moved to Philadelphia.  Jay continued to produce as Alaska412, not to be confused with the already popular ALASKA, responsible for some of Drum and bass's most ground breaking intelligent fare.  Alaska412 had a release on a local label, Milk recordings along with local liquid and dubstep producer ABZ of Savory Audio in 2007.  In 2008 Jay changed his production moniker to RadMax, concentrating on his love of technical drum patterns and standard bass sounds.  To date Radmax has released a collaboration project with GPK to Mechanical Advantage Digital Recordings called "Steel City" ( or Steel Chitty to some).  combining the technical drum programming with GPK's wicked and nasty bass lines.
