The Men in my Life

The lyrics to this song I always resonated with me, so I incorperated it into my busking repertoir. I first performed this in the Lanes, Brighton, over Christmas, accompanied by a californian hippy with a long silver beard on the djembe.

I'm Like a Bird

I've been writing and performing songs for Ukulele and Harmonica for 16 months, and I don't know if thats a long enough time to have a classic but well...I suppose this is a definative song of mine. A signature song. It's about a little red postal van called Ruby driven by my best friends Alex and TJ, and we spent many a summers day trundling up and down the A38 looking for an adventure.

Me being backed up by my brother on bass Sam Wtherill at the weekly (thursdays) Open Mic night at the Fortescue, Mutley Plain, Plymouth, a couple of weeks ago.  Best Open Mic I've ever been to, where the audience are as much a part of procedings as the performers. Special thanks to Paula for providing a much needed energy boast with her drums and singing in House of the Rising Sun.

Rae Wetherill Live at the Fortescue EP (feat guest bassist Sam Wetherill)

I'm a young illustration student from Plymouth, and I'm often found busking the streets of this city with my ukulele and harmonica. I write songs that have been described as "folk, hippy-folk, indie-hippy-folk" and so on! I'm influenced by artists such as Ben Kweller, Johnny Cash, the Be Good Tanyas, Aqualung, Ween, Yann Tiersen, The Feeling and Huey Lewis and the News. I recorded my first album for ukulele and harmonica, "Stunted Oak" over four days in easter, in my bedroom of my student flat.
