TM Shuffle is more than just a name in the international dub techno scene. The Finnish producer, DJ, and head of VUO Records has a rare talent for distilling the essence of depth, space, and rhythm into his productions. His music is infused with a hypnotic pulse that doesn’t shout loudly but tells stories subtly – of snow-covered landscapes, quiet nights, and an unwavering love for electronic music. What sets TM Shuffle apart is his uncompromising dedication to reduction. His musical philosophy is not about quantity but quality: less is more. By deliberately limiting himself, he becomes more creative – digging deep, searching intentionally for the right sound, and developing a distinct musical signature. This principle is evident not only in his productions but also in his thoughtfully crafted, driving DJ sets.

He shares this passion off stage as well: as the label head of VUO Records, he provides a platform for other artists who share his vision of dub techno – raw, organic, and timeless.

In a personal conversation with Andre Kronert, TM Shuffle offers insight into his creative workflow and studio philosophy. In a world of unlimited possibilities, he consciously relies on a minimalist setup: turntables, a mixer, a few select synthesizers, drum machines, and a computer for sequencing. Richard Bayer aka Richkus is a sonic curator whose musical journey has spanned nearly two decades through the depths of Deep, Dub, and Minimal Techno. With a keen sense for atmosphere and structure, he cultivates a sound that blends raw grooves with nuanced synths and expressive chords – always guided by organic flow and a focus on essentials. Whether in the studio or on stage, analog or digital – Richard employs a hybrid setup of hardware, software, vinyl, and digital tools, offering him maximum creative freedom. His DJ sets and productions are marked by precise dramaturgy and a deep understanding of sonic architecture. Minimalism, for him, is not an aesthetic constraint but a method of distilling music to its core.
