Presenting EL PLÁTANO MADURO STONEBRIDGE IBIZA MIX by the renowned GRAMMY nominated artist, producer and Dj StoneBridge. The song is an energetic dance mix of ‘El plátano maduro’ -a bachata by the acclaimed Latin music singer-songwriter  Rafael Energía Dominicana. 

StoneBridge is known for his unique brand of sexy, groove-ladled beats to crowds throughout the world. He brings his legendary and esteemed style, remix sounds, production and vision to the song, blasting it into the house and dance universe for an all-night jumping party and tropical fiesta in Ibiza, the Spanish island in the Mediterranean well known for its nightlife and electronic dance music club scene.

The original bachata version of “El plátano maduro” is produced by Rafael and Leandro Mejía in the Dominican Republic and in Canada. It was inspired by Rafael’s childhood in Bani, Dominican Republic and features humorous double entendre lyrics. An animation video of the song is directed by Jorge Merino from Venezuela. It is selected as part of the upcoming 2022 Montreal International Animation Festival- ANIMAZE.

The delicious, and flavourful plantain is in the spotlight with the new bachata “El plátano maduro” (The ripe plantain) by Rafael Energía Dominicana. With subtle double entendre lyrics and soulful bachata rhythms for a great time on the dancefloor.  “El plátano maduro” was inspired by Rafael’s childhood and experiences working at his family’s farm in his hometown in Baní, the capital town of the Peravia Province, Dominican Republic. Rafael started working on the farm when he was around 5 years old, helping his father Patricio "Balito" Medina, son of Dionicio Medina and Angelita Peña. Balito was known and appreciated for his great knowledge of different crops such as chili cachucha, cassava, onion, papaya, tomatoes, bananas and the mighty plantain. Rafael’s reflection on these beautiful memories accompanied by his natural Dominican-Caribbean humour inspired the first lyrics of the song: "A mi me gusta el plátano, a ella le gusta el rulo, a mi me gusta verde, y ella quiere maduro".

Accompanied by the dynamic orquesta Energía Dominicana, this important figure of the Montreal Latin music scene has appeared in prestigious festivals and made remarkable television appearances, and performed a pan-Canadian tour Rafael & Energía Dominicana has performed at a variety of festivals and events including The Montreal International Jazz Festival, Les Francofolies International de Montreal-Canada’s Diversity 150th Anniversary Celebration, Festival International del Merengue de Montreal, Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympics/Paralympics; Le Festival International Nuits D’Afrique, Calgary Expo Latino, Festival International Rythmes de Monde du Saguenay, Bureau de Tourisme République Dominicaine and more.
