“Touch Me”

Continuing the run of single releases from Paul Oakenfold’s recent Trance Mission album, we present a cover of what is arguably the biggest electronic vocal record of all time “Touch Me”. Originally by Rui Da Silva & Cass Fox and released in the early 00s the new adaptation by Paul Oakenfold took things in a more chilled direction – but still featuring a completely fresh take of vocals from Cassandra Fox. 

“If ever there was a timeless vocal classic to cover it’s “Touch Me” by Rui Da Silva and Cassandra Fox. Originally released in 2001 this was a number 1 hit in numerous countries around the world including the UK top 40. I adore this record. The lyrics and vocals are so perfect that when it came to make the cover version I knew two things had to happen – firstly we had to try and get Cass to re-sing the vocals (part of the rules of making a cover means you can’t use any audio from the original composition – everything needs to be remade or replayed) and secondly I wanted this to be a really stripped back almost chill out track so that the vocals had loads of room to breathe and take center stage. I love how this turned out and I was so excited that Cass got really involved when she came in to re-sing her vocals. It’s a completely fresh, exciting and emotionally charged take on the original record and I love it. “

Over two decades ago, Roland Leesker would play and produce with artists that are legends today. Slaving away with Ricardo Villalobos in his living room, creating loops with John Selway at New York´s Satellite basement, working as a light jockey for Joe Jam and Marc Spoon, cooking the heat together with Cajmere and ATA at the Wild Pitch Club, or running various record shops around the globe. Since then, he’s invested much of his time, knowledge, heart and soul into electronic music to further the scene and support the art. Now, he’s returned to the studio with his production partner Philipp Maier also known as Santé to bring you a new instant classic, ‘My Warehouse’

In a way, you could say ‘My Warehouse’ has been in the making for 25 years. In that time Roland Leesker has studied the music, gathering inspiration from the sounds, people and experiences along the way and putting them all together to create his perfect sound. ‘My Warehouse’ is a bass-laden House killer, with intense kicks and a gritty, in-your-face bassline.

The first exclusive vinyl release will feature remixes from friends he met along the 25 year journey; techno-prince Chris Liebing delivers an edit of Cardopusher´s sexy remix, as well as the original. Remixes from M.A.N.D.Y. and DJ T. are currently underway and expected soon.

Young Irish-producer Rebūke continues his rapid ascent to the top with two original productions on Hot Creations, primed and ready for the dancefloor.

Rebūke recalls being worried that Along Came Polly may have been perceived as being “a bit too weird”, but once it caught the attention of Jamie Jones, there was no stopping it. He says that the hype surrounding this EP “is something I’ve never experienced before...and it always get a great reaction”.

On Along Came Polly, Rebūke showcases his innate ability to craft a weirdly, wonderful slice of techno. On the B-side, Rolo is a much housier affair, weaving together a bouncier bassline and sultry vocal stab.

The alias of Reuben Keeney, Rebūke, has only been in business for a short while, but his efforts have already proved to be fruitful. He has garnered support from the likes of Nic Fanciulli and released on labels including Saved and DFTD, as well as having a successful club night under his belt, where highly regarded names such as Camelphat, Darius Syrossian, Ejeca and Huxley have all played.

Raffaele Rizzi is a brilliant example of the inexhaustible source of talents that the Partenopean capital continues to give to the world of electronic music for over twenty years. Despite his young age, Raffaele has an extended and variegated discography including releases on labels such as: Rino Cerrone’s Loose Records and Unrilis, Markantonio’s Analytictrail, Mauro Picotto’s Alchemy, Stefano Noferini’s Deeperfect, 2000 and One’s 100% Pure Records and Bitten, and Christian Smith’s Tronic and more.
Born and raised in Naples, he began studying piano at the early age of ten, firstly as self-taught and then under the expert guidance of teachers from the Musical Studies Center of his city. Mostly thanks to his infinite passion for music and the open-minded culture, seduced by the idea of ​​being able to create a sound by increasing or decreasing the pitch on the turntable. At the age of 15 he was seduced by electronic music and its repetitive although changing rhythms. Influenced by the music of Gabriel Ananda and Rino Cerrone, musicians like him that find inspiration for their tracks looking beyond the classical schemes, Raffaele is dedicated in developing its own musical identity within the techno trend, distinguished by dark, raw and thunderous sounds.
Quintessence of the contemporary electronic, techno music becomes for Raffaele the perfect tool with which to conquer freedom of expression, unexpected perspective from which to observe and analyze his artistic present and future. Over the years his sound goes from a techno with peculiar but elegant minimalist touches to more acoustic sounds characterized by deviant bass vibrations and connections of synths.
Although still very young, considering the explosive succession of musical productions and the constant participation of the artist in the events, both in Italy and abroad, the contribution of Raffaele Rizzi to "Neapolitan Techno" is to be considered decisive. His sound, composed by a refined union of Berlin Techno with marked Dub clues, has already collected the grace of top caliber artists like Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Cristian Smith, Joseph Capriati and Richie Hawtin, creating him a respectful spot among the names of the new age parthenopean techno.
