A fresh take on reggae and Rwandan traditional music, and often mixing the two. The music is delivered with a bold, brash energy that also carries with it a strong message. These Rasta ambassadors have been working together for the last six years to create a genuine sound which is very much of it's own and of Rwanda.

Sophie is the only female professional Inanga player in Rwanda and possibly the region. She's been writing songs for around twenty years. She combine's the traditional Art form passed down from her Father (a great player in his own right) with her own contemporary melodies and Poetry.

Rafiki Records comes from a concept which many musicians aspire to; groups of musicians and artists working together to produce their own music as a community, make a fair share of the profit and put back into positive community projects which benefit the community from which the Artists are from.

This is the ideal, now this is where we’re at: We’ve facilitated the creation of Rwanda’s best acoustic recording facility, which was designed to create revenue for a charity which supports the community.

We are currently working with seven amazing and different Rwandan artists on various projects, to create products to go to market.
