Here's a podcast from someone close to our hearts, Hermeneia – a member of the Unsound team as well as a Warsaw-based DJ with wide-ranging taste. Hermeneia opened the main room of the Friday club night this year, building her set patiently as the crowd filled, by effortlessly moving from ethereal passages to darker, more percussive sides of bass music, blending in heavy tunes and Polish rap for good measure.
We were tempted to shorten that set for an attention-deficit Internet, but couldn't find a section we could bear to edit out – so enjoy the full journey...

« Founded almost four years ago, Le Motel’s Maloca Records has excelled in world-building as it tirelessly brings together some of the best and most innovative artists from different pockets of the club community around the world. This is showcased most notably through the compilation series which returns for its second volume on the 8th December as it combines both established and breakthrough artists.

Across 17 tracks, Maloca, Vol. 2 features both label family and exciting debuts with the likes of Farsight, Griffit Vigo, and DJ JM returning to the imprint. The rest of the compilation sees knockout contributions from the likes of Bambounou, Flore, Konduku, Tristan Arp, NVST, De Grandi, Neida, Cheb Runner, Malo2k, Leese, Ultima Esuna & Destrata, Mika Oki, M I M I and Space Drum Meditation. Whilst these artists may be from different cities across the pond, they all have something in common - they are leading the way for the next wave of club music. Whether that’s the riotous sounds of NVST, Griffit Vigo’s ever- evolving landscape of gqom, Tristan Arp’s signature insect-inspired soundscape, the emerging Brussels-based artists M I M I and Mika Oki or the trippy, introspective melodies of Konduku and Space Drum Meditation. Maloca, Vol. 2, captures a mind-melting moment in time.

The artwork is by Brussels-based painter Anastasia Bay who’s work presents a renewed vision of the human figure. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, Anastasia Bay’s work is all about contrast and balance. The choice of a precise fragment of reality in her works dissolves any narration. »

‘Spherae’ marks the return to scenes of Turin-based producer and DJ Alec Pace landing now on Infinite Machine with a mind-melter EP aimed for the club.

Following a 2-year long hiatus from his latest original work ‘Future Now?’ and previous releases on acclaimed labels such as All Centre and Nous Disques, the Italian producer delivers a new psychedelic blend of post-grime and experimental-bass condensed into a powerful club-ready 4-tracker.

Opening track ‘Preemah’ is a dance-floor heater which plays with the alternation of perpetual crescendos and heavy kick-drops, the rhythmic session is based on a glitchy jersey-club beat while the melodic elements work with uplifting synthesizers and heavy manipulated field recordings.

The explorations continues into title track ‘Spherae’, a peak-time ‘ode to speed’ which twists elements and a rhythmic session borrowed from the D’n’B scene while mangling them with ‘pointillistic’ synthesizers and hyper-effected spooky vocals.

‘Khroma’ follows next, a dark and psychedelic roller which will bring the listener into more obscure sound landscapes which delivers robotic GQOM-inspired beats with overdriven-glitchy synthesizers and tribalesque chants.

The alien-shaped beats of ‘Qubo’ closes-down the release with its glitchy-old-skool-electro vibe, combining a rhythmic session which borrows elements from the old-skool electro with analog generated percussions and field recordings.

While touching GQOM-esque and post-grime atmospheres and both pushing BPM-speed limits forwards, ‘Spherae’ explores further into experimental-territories yet remaining true to its club nature.

INNOCENT - Hot Damn

This album came together during nights when sleep wasn’t really an option. Headphones on, lights low, city humming in the background. No rush to make singles .... just tracks built for atmosphere, movement, and low-end weight.

MIDNIGHT CACHE sits in the space between cinematic electronic music, hybrid trap, and gritty Y2K bass. Heavy subs, distorted textures, glitchy details, and pacing that feels right for night drives, gaming, late workouts, or zoning out after midnight. Some tracks hit hard, some just linger, but everything is meant to feel dark, digital, and slightly unstable.

Nothing here is overly polished. The glitches stay. The noise stays. That’s part of the sound.
If you’re into cyberpunk EDM, dark bass music, hybrid trap, underground electronic, or night-drive playlists, this project fits that lane without trying too hard.

Let it play front to back. It’s better that way.
