Born in the Bronx, hailing from Brooklyn, Craig DeLeon has been composing original music since the age of 8 years old; however his professional education began while cutting his teeth at the legendary production company Propaganda Films.  Originally as the assistant to director Spike Jonze, DeLeon's creative education flourished while working alongside directors that included David Fincher, Mark Romanek, Michel Gondry, Michael Bay, McG and Antoine Fuqua.  DeLeon's way of looking at film was forever shaped during these years, particularly in the area of film scoring.  It was during many a late night spotting session, edit, or scoring session in the presence of these future greats that DeLeon began defining himself as a filmmaker, though one who told stories through music rather than a camera.
Soon he developed his talents as a freelance composer, joining the acclaimed music and sound design initiative Human as a Creative Director/Composer where his music has been featured in ads for Nike, American Express, Adidas, Xbox, Microsoft, Apple and Google.  
In 2007 DeLeon scored his first feature film Normal Adolescent Behavior for New Line Cinema starring Amber Tamblyn, directed by first timer and future Bunheads scribe Beth Schachter, music supervised by future Glee music supervisor PJ Bloom, and produced by ex-Madonna manager/president of Maverick records Freddy DeMann and producer Pilar DeMann. 
Next came scores for a series of films: Academy Award-Nominated documentary The Witness: From the Balcony of Room 306 for director Adam Pertofsky; “Going Clear”-director Alex Gibney’s segment of the film adaptation of the non-fiction book Freakonomics; theatre-of-the-absurd spoof The Legend of Hallowdega by legendary filmmaker Terry Gilliam, and Hollywood Hair, the directorial debut of Ouija writer-producer Juliet Snowden; In God We Trust about the Bernie Madoff saga opened the 2013 TriBeCa film festival and was directed by Terminator Salvation producers Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson; Kevin Hart’s 2014 Fox/ABC pilot Keep It Together for Community showrunners Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan.
This year, DeLeon’s scores can be heard in director Thomas Hammock’s apocalyptic thriller The Last Survivors (fka The Well) written by All the Boys Love Mandy Lane writer Jacob Forman, that opened the 2014 Los Angeles Film Festival to strong reviews; Dances with Films Festival Audience Award winner  Fools by Benjamin Myer; and LAFF Audience Award Winning documentary Be Here Now.  And he had a pretty cool Superbowl Ad for Mophie to boot.
