The PsychoTrópicos project has created tropicalized adaptations for alternative and psychedelic rock songs. The arrangements take into consideration the original song details, through its interpretation with Brazilian acustic instruments like the cavaquinho, 7-string guitar, viola caipira, pandeiro, reco-reco, agogo, triangle and cuica, classical instruments like the cello and flute, along side with more unusual sounding like Indian sitar, Venezuelan cuatro, ukulele, moringa, charango, among others... The vocals are influenced by the refined simplicity of bossa nova. The project includes musicians from the cities of Santos and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

FlyLo is one of my biggest musical inspirations.  This is one of my favourites from him so I thought I'd attempt to create my own rendition of it.  Enjoy!

Chris Kallmyer is an artist who works in sound installation, composition, performance, and electronic music. He has presented work at the Walker Art Center, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, the Hammer Museum, the Getty Center, REDCAT, Machine Project, and other spaces in America and Europe. His work sits on the fringes of music and contemporary art, often engaging sound through touch, taste, participation, and process. Chris is an artist that works with Machine Project, is a member of wild Up, and earned his MFA in music from the California Institute of the Arts where he studied with Thomas Stevens, Vinny Golia, Wadada Leo Smith, and Aashish Khan. He holds a BA in trumpet performance from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. In fall of 2013 Chris is the first visiting artist at the Magdalena Ridge Observatory in central New Mexico.
