Internationally recognised and much-loved festival from Japan, Rainbow Disco Club’s offshoot project "Beyond Space And Time" record label presents their sophomore release! Following the work by DJ Nobu, their second compilation has been compiled by none other than Antal. Also known as the festival's headliner and the man behind Amsterdam's finest record shop/label Rush Hour, all 11 tracks are selected by Antal in a 2 x 12-inch + bonus 7-inch format. From local Dutch newcomers to '80s Japanese cult music, rare grooves to danceable house music, and rare Caribbean soul, this compilation is a portrait of music enthusiast Antal Heitlager’s enormous collection and 30-year DJ career, a work of art that can be enjoyed by all music fans!

An afro electronics track recommended by South African collector DJ Okapi, who co-produced the masterpiece compilation "Pantsula!: Rise Of Electronic Dance Music In South Africa: 1988-90" released in 2017, which brought Kwaito back onto the map. A-1

A rare breezin' boogie by Larry Heard’s alias Trio Zero from 1989. Highly sought after by all collectors as a cult Balearic track. Previously unreleased version. B-1

From the 2015 album by L.A. funk maker DAM-FUNK on the prestigious Stones Throw label. LO-FI beats and synthetic breakdowns that are reminiscent of early Rush Hour works and ‘90s house. B-2

The debut single of Japanese idol unit, Shohjo-Tai. Haruomi Hosono also produced some of their tracks later on in their career. Japanese new wave disco from 1984. C-1

The soundtrack from the Japanese manga "Touring Express". RDC fans will recognize this track from the final hours of the festival. A nostalgic oriental disco from 1985. C-2

80s Silky Mellow Soul by Connecticut jazz vocalist Dianne Mower who also contributed to the re-press of the prestigious Numero Group. D-1

The original version is a masterpiece from 1983 by Zouk singer Jocelyn Mocka of French Guadeloupe. This edit still very much emphasizes an emotional mid-tempo Caribbean soul, nicely reconstructed by Bonnefooi. D-2

What began from as a performance at Japan's Rainbow Disco Club festival, now evolves into a full EP from Kuniyuki, Soichi Terada & Sauce 81.

Kuniyuki, a leading figure in the 21st-century electronic music scene, Soichi Terada, who returned from the dawn of the ‘90s Japanese house, and the multi-instrument player Sauce 81, who is the master of US-rooted disco production. A recording of an intense improvisation studio session of three talented Japanese musicians.

The LP kicks off with A-1 “Slowdown”, a dreamy black-eyed house track, with an authentic gospel-like chorus, bell synths, and ocean drums that sparkle throughout the track. Then moves into A-2 “Get Up”, A hypnotic leftfield tune, inspired by the 80's machine disco with diffused vocoder voices. It concludes with B-1 “Let Us In”, a laid-back fusion of cosmic synth in an old-school rhythm section.

Inspired by the authentic sounds from the ‘80s and ‘90s, Kuniyuki, Soichi Terada, and Sauce 81 bring you three future-oriented soulful improvisation jams to today!

The second release of a compilation series "Beyond Space And Time 002" by Antal and Rainbow Disco Club.

Following the sensational and collectable first release in 2022, this hands on approach album contains powerful and soulful house music. These tracks were carefully selected by Antal and would place the central role of his set.

A-side features the vinyl premiere "Pursuit Of The Journey" by Baltimore’s mastermind GE-OLOGY. Deep house with beautifully vibrant beats, glossy voice sampling and synth melodies that takes you to the vivid journey. GE-OLOGY has been active in a wide range of fields from hip-hop to house since its early days. “Darkly active” is the exact word to express him. Without making a display of one's originality, he is showing the current state of the fresh US deep house.

A superb deep house with a mellow and raw Afro-futuristic rhythms played on actual machines "Gyenyame ("Only God")" is recorded with license on the B-side. This was released in 2006 from excellent label “Urbanicity” founded by Chicago producer Shannon Harris who is known for almost all of its work being featured on David Mancuso's Loft playlist.

As the first release was a collectible 2LP package of Rush Hour's taste from Japanese to rare groove, Caribbean, soul and left field, this EP "Beyond Space And Time 002" has changed pace from the first volume with a more focus on dance tracks with a deeper flavor with true value delivered from the dancefloor of the Rainbow Disco Club.

Beyond Space And Time is the new record label from Japanese music festival, Rainbow Disco Club (RDC). RDC has been welcoming music loving people to Japan for over a decade. Throughout the festival's history, RDC have been fortunate to constantly encounter performers and DJs who've collaborated with them in establishing a beautiful dance floor year in, year out. These relationships have lead RDC to start their own label, and now gives them the opportunity to reveal one of the best-kept secrets: What is in a DJ's record bag?

This time around, festival regular DJ Nobu kindly opens up his collection and shares the music he loves with us all. On visual duty we welcome Senekt - his representational yet contemporary drawing illustrates the emotion we feel from DJ Nobu.

In 1999, Kaoru Inoue released his debut album, Spring to Summer as Chari Chari. Available via File Records—and picked up shortly after by Portuguese label Última—the Sagamihara-born artist expertly blended ambient, tribal, house and jazz instrumentation into twelve elegant, electro-acoustic compositions.

Listening back to the album now, knowing the work Inoue has gone on to do, it’s easy to see the eclectic Spring as a marker for things to come. Since first getting into music and DJing in the early ‘90s, the Tokyo-based producer has released several records under his own name and as Chari Chari, started his own label, formed a minimal acoustic guitar band and became a highly respected DJ, both domestically and internationally. Last year, he released We hear the last decades dreaming, his first LP as Chari Chari in over 18 years and maybe the best of his career. Like his debut, dreaming displays a preternatural understanding of timbre, texture and atmosphere. It begins with the hiss of a departing train and moves from intricate Balearic percussion to ECM-inspired guitar solos to more hypnagogic ambient. It’s a record imbued with a sense of forward movement, and in a year as stationary as 2020, it offered some respite from the stasis.

Inoue’s sets, like his music, are equally captivating. His mix perfectly encapsulates the concept behind the series (every guest is given the same brief, to share with us the music they personally find therapeutic). His recording pieces together the sounds of gongs, chimes, meditative incantations, gorgeous acoustic and electronic arrangements and other ethereal sounds. The whole mix is blanketed with field recordings and each track moves seamlessly into the next. As with his own production style, it intertwines the old and the new, featuring music from Sarah Davachi, Paul Giger, The Entourage Music and Theatre Ensemble, as well as Sydney’s own Santilli.
