So I know I was supposed to make Cynthia's Theme, but I was talking to VGR about a collab and they're already remixing that one! I wanted to make Snowpoint City for the holidays anyway, so I did :D This is definitely an underrated piece from gen 4 in my opinion. I will try to collab with VGR in the future for sure since they are one of my favorite remixers.

I will say though, this was an interesting piece to remix. The original composers, Junichi Masuda and Go Ichinose, did an excellent job conveying a snowy wonderland. They used falling arpeggios with an uplifting chord progression to really seal the deal. I wanted to keep that feeling alive for the holidays! I spiced it up with some interesting beats and improvisation and I hope you like it! This is a short one, so you can play it on repeat by the yule log :3

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl: Snowpoint City (Vector U Remix)

This is original music for music's sake, created from the 2a03 soundchip of the Nintendo Entertainment System, with the VRC6 expansion audio chip. It was made with a program called 0CC-Famitracker.

The NES has only 5 monophonic audio channels ("tracks" or "voices"), but the VRC6 (used in only a small handful of Japanese Famicom games) adds 3 additional voices for more pristine polyphonic possibilities. 

.nsf files are included in the Bandcamp download, for playback and looping on NES hardware, in a Nintendo emulator, or Winamp with an NSF plugin.

I literally just looped part of the original by Arctures because a lot of people wanted an extended version. Now sorry for not actually extending it, but hey I'm not here to actually make any music alright. I found one on YouTube as well, but the sound was kind of low res, so I decided to just loop it myself because I was bored. I'm not even sure I managed to clip it exactly before the the next beat, so shit might be slightly off-beat after a while, couldn't be arsed to listen for it though.

Little mess about I did writing a proper old school 8 bit theme song to a non existent game. If the game existed it would be rock solid, great gameplay, and up there with Megaman. I'd say it would have got strong 90% scores in TOTAL! back in the day. It would be called Alf Bamford's Knob Out!! (Like Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!)

Good fun getting all the sounds spot on and the style of melodies. Intricate! Just a bit of fun really.

Technikal - Now You're Playing With Power (NES 8 Bit Fun)

At long last me and Gammer get round to collaborating, and not end up spending the day playing Counter-Strike or watching Youtube videos. Being the uber nerds that we are, and seeing as we had stopped playing computer games for five minutes to write some music, we decided to go the chip tune route but in a "so over the top ridiculous way that it hasn't been done before" kind of fashion.

We spent pretty much as much time on the 8 bit breakdowns as the rest of the track. All wrapped around a classic feel good hardcore riff. Hope you enjoy!
