Greetings to all the good people, and enthusiasts of underground dance music!
I will be spinning a set of Tribal House tonight live on Discotheque radio with host Jenna Luna.
Discothèque Radio was founded by Eugene's very own Jesse Lewis (Know as DJ Soulcaller) who has been doing a lot of great work bringing the good vibrations and musical offerings to our community for some time now. 
It is a radio show that honors the history of the discothèque, a French word for "record collection". 
The concept of public dance parties with a DJ developed in France and Germany in the late 1930s and 1940s. This show pays homage to the underground dance parties in occupied France during the 1940s.
The term "discothèque" was used in Paris during the Nazi occupation to describe nightclubs that played records instead of live music. It later came into use in the United States in the early 1960s The term "disco" is short for "discothèque" 
The show reflects the deep musical roots of the discothèque and pays homage to the clandestine 1940s speakeasy parties in occupied France.
I am really looking forward to spinning some music and good vibrations up on Discothèque Radio tonight!

there have been so many well thought out edits released in recent years, i figured i'd create a mix that highlighted some of my favorites.  many of these original tunes flew under the radar upon their initial release.  others will be immediately recognizable, even to the layman.  i think this mix is a great starting point for people with a discerning ear who may be new to electronic music.  i tried to program it in a way that will leave you wanting more.  in fact, the OL tag line may as well be reversed to "from the couch to the dancefloor" for this one.  that makes more sense to me, as clever rearrangement is the very spirit of this mix.  hopefully these hedonic sounds keep you warm during the winter months.  enjoy.
